Anyone else have the feeling ...

We definitely look like we'll have a championship caliber defense. Maybe as good as this team has ever had.

WR, OT, and TE (until week 10) are huge question marks on offense and I'm never sure what our STs are going to look like.

So what I'm saying is 19-0.

I have the feeling that with good health and some fortune, the team can continue to compete at a high level. The chance to win the division and witness yet another playoff run would be epic.

So, basically, 19-0.

I am not skeptical about winning this year, my skepticism resonates from the immortal words of Steve Sabol that are forever imprinted on my brain.. "On any given Sunday".

Focus on the preseason, then Pittsburgh... one game at a time.

2016 is debatable on that.

Yes, the Brady suspension was a downer, but we definitely exceeded expectations in his absence and had a pretty nice 3-1 start.

In the loss the Pats did not field a passing QB. JG and Brady were out and JB had a broken finger on his throwing hand.

I dont think so this year. The players were only walking out to the field for practice this year, not running. They obviously dont care.

And they aren’t having fun . . .

I have to agree with Ken here, that while I'm not worried specifically about any of the first four games, I'm certainly not just writing in 4-0 and taking a nap until October. So many games are decided by just a handful of plays, some of which are successful by only a fraction of an inch. I like our chances as much as anyone as the year goes on, but early season is chaotic. There's a lot of variables that just haven't been established yet.

My goal is a 2-2 September. Anything more than that will be gravy,

2-2 starts have worked out pretty well (2003, 2014, 2018-Won SB; 2017-lost SB; 2012-lost AFCCG; 2005 - lost Divisional)

I mean that's the only thing BB and Brady hasn't accomplished yet so....

And it's not like it's not doable, we were so close in 07.

Certainly, but a lot had to go right that year too. We caught the league completely by surprise with our offense. Up until that point, Brady hadn't ever thrown even 30 TD's, no one was prepared to defend the kind of aerial attack we were employing.

Once things settled down, there were some really close games (Ravens needed a comeback, Giants was back and forth, and the Eagles I think?). We were real close, but hard for me to ever see that happening again.

Given how the Pats did last year against ex-Patriot coaches on the road coupled with the Patriots overall history in Miami I'm viewing them as underdogs in that game.

I do expect them to put a hurt on the Steelers.

The Bills and Jets games will be close low scoring affairs as the offense gains continuity.

Reassess after September.

In the loss the Pats did not field a passing QB. JG and Brady (Brisset?) were out and JB had a broken finger on his throwing hand.
Also on the first offensive series a long TD pass to Edelman was called back for a penalty on Hogan and it went downhill from there... At 3-0 going into that game, it was house money...

Did someone say 2019-0

why not...with BB and TB everything is possible...

let's appreciate this awesome run day by day...

it was a dream when i started to follows this team to simply have a feeling reaching play-offs...

Health permitting, they will win it again. I feel like the early 2000’s are repeating itself.

A lot of people freaked over the loss of Trey Flowers, but they won’t miss a beat with the addition of Bennett. I’m confident Rivers emerges. Winovich will be a pest. LB’s and Secondary are absolutely stacked. Their CB’s are so good, they could be cutting Dawson and stashing Williams. This will be the best and most versatile defense since ‘03.

KC is new Indy but less balanced.
>>I feel like the early 2000’s are repeating itself.

They already have. Now they are being exceeded.

Yes, and quiet frankly I don't understand why the Chiefs have the same odds.

We do have a great QB, great RBs, a good OL, a great defense and great coaching. What we are missing is in the skill position department at WR and TE but it's still possible that JG comes back and Harry and Meyers emerge. Watson will come back and DT/Meredith might. The most important storyline I will follow is Wynn. If Wynn can play well, it won't matter much who we have there at receiver.

While I see some flaws on this team, I would not bet against the 2019 New England Patriots.
