Yeah, BB probably meant after Brady who is playing at the top of his game has retired in 2022.

No, Bill meant this current group of Patriots will be back in the near future...maybe not necessarily in 2019, but at some point before Brady leaves.

I’m a little worried about all of these little injuries piling up, TBH.

But sure, whatever.

Nope. This offense will have issues early. I think it will look good by the end of the year when Meyers and Harry are more in sync and have some experience but I see some growing pains early. No matter how good the practice notes look or the preseason games go really are rookie WRs ready to go week 1 in their rookie year.

After Edelman what do we have that is proven? White. Sure. Not enough. No TEs will be ready. No WRs will be ready to be the #2 instantly.

Michel and the running game are proven. 4 out of 5 of one of the best OL's in the League are returning.

Yes the WR's may take a few games, but the veteran talent is deeper than it's ever been. Very promising.

And they'll be getting better field position this year than last, because that D is going to be very good.

White & one has to think Sony. There's literally no reason he shouldn't be catching passes this year. None. He wasn't bad at all in pass pro. Should only get better.

Maybe Burkhead finally stays healthy?

RB's will be huge if Gordon doesn't cape up at some point or we trade for another pass catcher.

I'm on record of having Meyers on the 53 right after the draft so I expect him to ball out along w Harry. Tom shouldn't be relying on 2 rookies to make that big of an impact though no matter how talented or solid they are.

My goal is a 2-2 September. Anything more than that will be gravy,

We are not running the table

I really like our chances this year, alot to be excited about. We'll see how the injuries play out though, that's what it has boiled down to the last 5 years or dynasty v.2. The 3 years we've had good health we have won it all. Even 2013 I think could have been alot different if VW , Gronk, Mayo, Talib or some combination of the 4 were healthy at the end - I'm probably missing a few as well.

This is the NFL where many many injuries happen. Some time the best teams are those that manage to stay relatively injury free. And then there's Kansas City with its two offensive superstars (Mahomes might just be unstoppable)

The BB Pats have always gone now.

Just like in Super Bowl 36. I saw it as back to back Super Bowls and not stock piling nuts for the future.

Anyone else have the feeling that this is one of those threads that was started to fish for “likes” and agreements?

Patriots always need a few good ass whoopings early in the season so that Bill can lay into them and build the foundation.

I'm worried about ALL of them.

Buffalo and the Jets are both vastly improved talent-wise. This will be the Bills Superbowl, at home, and I like their Defense a lot. Playing in Miami this early only magnifies all the troubles we constantly have there regardless of the talent gap that exists. And finally the Steelers are STILL have one of the most very talented rosters in the league. As a matter of fact everyone but Miami haves perhaps more top end talent than the Pats, just not the depth and coaching.

This is the NFL and every team can beat another on a given day. Last year the Pats lost 5 games and EVERY one was to a team that didn't make the playoffs. They all have great athletes. They all have the best coaches available. They all play under the same cap conditions.

I'm afraid we all have forgotten just how hard it is to win ANY football game in the NFL. Thank god, Bill understands. This team recently has started slowly trying to find it's identity. I think it will start even more slowly this season. Bill is, in my opinion. very wisely having the easiest TC of his career. Playing in 3 superbowls in a row means you team has had to play and practice 15 weeks more than a non-playoff team. That's almost a full season of extra high pressure work against the best competition in the league. Also this team had a 3-5 road record last year.

Also as an aside. Coaching and game planning has ALWAYS been a huge advantage for this team. I think one of the reasons why we seem to start so slowly is that in September this is so little film out their to study an opposing team. IMHO the best time to get to the Pats is when they don't know your team well.

So, it is very easy to look at the first 4 teams we play and based on our HISTORY with them, see 4 easy wins. But HISTORY really doesn't mean much in the NFL (for the most part) That's were Bill's greatness shines. He understands that and prepares for it, and understands that September is for creating a unique identity for the CURRENT 53 man roster. What happened before doesn't mean ****. Most roster turn over up to 30% of its players. YOU are everyone's target. A win over the Pats can make a season for a fan base/

Add to all that short of Edelman and Dorsett, we have COMPLETELY turned over the TE and WR postions. 6 weeks of practice and about 3 live quarters of play for the starters during the preseason, is NOT enough time to get everyone on the same page.

I't getting to look like we will have a fine defense and there is talent enough at the WR RB and TE positions to have a top notch offense...EVENTUALLY. But the fact that it won't be at it's best early only makes me worry about September even more. Certainly you can make a great case for 3-1 being a disappointment. But while I'd be unhappy with a 2-2 start, I'd take it in stride knowing the best is yet to come.

All I needed was a 4 to 5 word answer

Trent Dilfers 2014 comment “they’re not good anymore” will go down as one of the dumbest in commentator history. Right up there with Tom Jackson “they hate their coach”.

We own Buffalo

We own Pittsburgh and they lost their two best players
