Tannenbaum Posits Hoyer as a Solution for Eagles.

God Tannenbaum is such a dumbass. The Lions D-line had a bunch of injuries and from what I've read their secondary is trash and lacks depth after Darius Slay.

Edit: Forgot the obligatory Death to BSPN!

yeah, I mean... if they're willing to give up real assets for Hoyer, sure, I'll take it. But they're a capable FO so I'm skeptical. If only Mike Tannenbaum was their GM.

Ohhhhhhhh....you said tannenbaum...my mistake.

Sudfeld broke his wrist, so they have no legit backup to Wentz now.

It would be hilarious if we got something of value from them.

Wentz seems to go down every year, so the Eagles need a capable backup or two.

Hoyer still provides significant value for us. Even if they gave up a 5th rounder or something, would it really be worth it? Not in my opinion.

Will never understand their compulsion to trade Foles....I get he is expensive but wentz can't last a season. Mistake will help us somehow this season.

Stidham is not ready to take over if Brady gets hurt

I don’t think any team can justify paying a back up 25 mil a year. And they aren’t going to trade Wentz. Dude wanted to start and I think they figured he earned that right after winning them a super bowl.

If Brady goes down then Hoyer knows the Pats O system well and will be an OK fill in, Stidham is not ready.. one preseason game is not enough to tell much of anything. The Detroit D was not all that impressive and did not show a lot...

I would not let Hoyer go, and doubt if BB would even consider it at this stage of the season.. 1 preseason game.

Tannenbaum needs to create some sort of controversy as fodder for sportstalk and social media recognition.. the standard of success in today's reporting..

neither is Hoyer.

???

Hoyer easily can keep the ship afloat if Brady misses 3/4 games. Stidham can't (yet).

Not every injury is a season ender but paying games with the backup QB over roster spot 53 can make it so.

I smell a Sanchez coming out of retirement.

why can't Stidham do it? There is little reason he can't. Dallas went 13-3 with a 4th round rookie in 2016 and Stidham looks terrific in the preseason and camp.

BB will need to decide if the incremental difference between Hoyer and Stidham is big enough to cut one additional player. Do we lose a Rivers, Roberts or Dorsett to keep Hoyer? He took the risk with Mallet over Hoyer years ago so I would not conclude that his job is safe just yet. Brady is older now so the calculation is different. Stidham's play the next month could very well determine what happens to Hoyer.

Yeah that’s something to monitor

I would certainly not be sure Hoyer's job is safe. If he is outplayed why keep him around? I think anyone is available for a trade for the right price.

Hoyer could play lights out for the next month and it may not matter...if Stidham continues to make progress like he has...going with only 2 QB’s this season is a possibility.
