AB threatens to retire (Helmet-Gate)

Maybe a new video from the locker room with a new collection of helmets.

This idiot isn’t going to retire. He’s not going to pass up all of that money over having to wear a different helmet. He’s totally bluffing.

If it's Antonio Brown, flush it.

Antonio "all about me" Brown is an idiot he wanted greener pastures and now that he has them he has to completely screw it up.... again.

Some folks are addicted to chaos....

Weren't there a bunch of fans and sportstalk radio hosts who wanted NEP to sign him?? He can completely screw up a free lunch..

Low frustration tolerance, narcissism, and seemingly random stubbornness can be caused by a lot of things. We can't diagnose him from afar, but there's clearly something going on here. The only assessments that are certainly wrong are simple references to a lack of intelligence. This behavior isn't caused by "stupidity" or "being an idiot." Something medical is up for the guy, but like many celebrities, his sponsors don't want to mess with it because they fear losing their asset.

So the Raiders traded for him and gave him a new contract, only to become immediately frustrated by the fact that Antonio Brown continues to be Antonio Brown. This is one of the best examples of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" I can remember.

I love watching him and he's a great talent, but did they think he was going to be a different person in black and silver?

Really. It's obvious that the only way to get the most out of the guy is to dress him in green and white.

There’s one of the main reasons Brady is now looking to play PAST 45 and BB, despite years ago saying he won’t be Marv Levy and would retire well before 70, will probably stay well past 70. The rest of the league is being populated by divas and malcontents who submarine franchises. Look at Jalen Ramsey. Look at what Leveon Bell did last year. Look at the Cowboy circus. Look at owners like Dan Snyder. All the Pats have to do is have players (many of whom were captains in college or had dads who were coaches) who keep their heads down and”Do Their Jobs” and they are going to win while the other teams suffer from nut jobs. There are so many moving parts (not just players) for a franchise. If you have focused players, coaches, executives and owners consistently doing their job it may not look dominant, but like Chinese Water Torture it wins out in the end. The Patriots are like the miner who just patiently taps the rock in a metronomic manner until it cracks. The rest of the league simply doesn’t have the patience. This is why Brady says “Why would I ever want to retire, I finally have all the answers to the test!”

Per BR, if he doesn't get to wear his old helmet. I mean really. Is this guy stupid or just plain ignorant. Shining example of a cancer to this sport!

Gooddell thinking out loud ... Hmmm... I haven't had any attention over a high profile equipment violation. Let's see......Ahhh got it...Helmetgate !! - 1 million $ fine, loss of their 2020 1st round draft pick, and a 4 game suspension for AB. Oh wait....the Raiders suck....ummm. ok....no fine and give them the Patriots 2020 first round pick.

Surprised you can’t get a waiver in exchange to waive your right to sue. Maybe NFLPA wouldn’t allow it?

Q: What does author Louis Carroll and the Raiders have in common ?

A: They both have a mad hatter.

Sorry thats the best I can do for a weekend joke

He is not going to retire over this. He will throw his little temper tantrum but ultimately come back. He’s probably just enjoying a week or so away from camp.

I wonder if we will get any further insight into the Raiders’ perspective on Hard Knocks...

I could never be a coach nowadays, I wouldn't be able to control my emotions if our new star who just broke the bank was pulling this...it's a mockery of what team sports was intended to be

Here's a theory of mine of why the wide receiver group tends to produce the most divas. Let me preface by saying obviously this doesn't apply to the vast majority(Edelman, Julio Jones, Fitzgerald etc etc etc.)

With most team sports a certain rate of failure exists. The best baseball players fail at a significant rate, interceptions and incompletions are built in to being a quarterback, basketball players shoot roughly 50% from the field. With wide receivers it is within the realm of possibility to be completely perfect. I think this attracts certain personality who are afraid of adversity or failure and crave constant praise. On the flip side it can also effect coaches(who throughout the ranks of football on all levels are often former lineman) to expect WRs to shut up and catch the damn ball...I played WR in HS and the coaches had stronger bonds with the lineman

Good points, I just have to think how negative this sort of behaviour will be on the team as a whole , but then if the management and head coach are prepared to turn a blind eye then there is no hope for them

Imagine Brown trying to pull this B S with Belichick. That would go well...

Gridiron Heights is going to have a field day with this.

Regards,
Chris

I want to think this is one big ploy for Hard Knocks, then I remember it's Antonio Brown and the Raiders and they can be this stupid.

This dude is a quack.

This dude is a quack.
The racism acquisitions from last season about people criticizing AB and supporting Ben (which nobody actually did lol basically everybody think he’s a POS) looks real dumb about now.

Ben has done worse things, but least he shows up to work.. but gotta think his teammates are tired of his act too. His theatrics during the Raiders game cost them a playoff spot.
