NFL 100 Greatest - Which Pats Will Make The List?

Tough to exclude Gibbs.. 156 seasons, 154 Wins and 94 Losses, post season impressive in 10 post season appearance his record was 17 wins and 7 losses, 3 superbowls, 2X NFL coach of the year...

The 2010 list is heavily skewed toward pre Super Bowl era players. I wonder if the new list is going to show more recency bias.

At this point there are quite a few names left off the 2010 list that are locks or near locks:
Brees
Rodgers
Roethlisburger
Adrian Peterson
Megatron
Gronk
Joe Thomas
JJ Watt
Ed Reed
Troy Polamalu
Champ Bailey

I'd call Law and Revis borderline plays.

I agree. Heck, to even coach 156 seasons is impressive by itself.

Law's career was finished when the last list was made. Love Law but I don’t think he makes it.

Also not sure Polomalu makes it. Some other recent stars like Kuechly, Brown and Von Miller will likely make it though.

Tell you what, I'm going to get ambitious here. I'm going to make a list of guys since about the 96 draft that didn't make the list before, but have some sort of shot of making it now. A lot of these guys I don't think will make the list (nor should they) but I could see having some feasible chance. I'll go up to about 2012, I think anything further is too recent.

First need to mark off the guys that made the last list, which are:
Peyton Manning
Ray Lewis
Tom Brady
Tony Gonzalez
Tomlinson
Randy Moss
Jonathan Ogden
Ed Reed

Now for the list:
1996: Marvin Harrison, Brian Dawkins, Terrell Owens
1997: Orlando Pace, Walter Jones, Jason Taylor
1998: Charles Woodson, Alan Faneca
1999: Champ Bailey
2000: Brian Urlacher
2001: Drew Brees, Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne (Polian and Dungy are on this voting board)
2002: Julius Peppers, Dwight Freeney
2003: Andre Johnson. Troy Polomalu, Jason Witten, Antonio Gates
2004: Larry Fitzgerald, Big Ben, Rivers, Jared Allen, Jason Peters
2005: Demarcus Ware, Aaron Rodgers, Frank Gore
2006: I got nothing.
2007: Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Joe Thomas, Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch, Darrelle Revis
2008: Another year with not much.
2009: Lesean McCoy, maybe.
2010: Earl Thomas, Gronk, Antonio Brown
2011: Von Miller, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones, JJ Watt, Richard Sherman
2012: Luke Kuechly, Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson

So that's a good list of candidates that could potentially make the list. Granted a good chunk of these players likely won't, I'd guess around half. This also doesn't include some potential older players that this panel may decide to put onto the list that previous voters of the old list did not.
