Brady puts Brookline home on the market

getting ready for life after football..........wifey wants to be closer to her gigs

though listening to felger and mazz wet themselves will be fun this afternoon

I mean Tom’s career is very near its end, even if this year isn’t his last.

I’m sure there’s definitely some preparations for their future right now. No shock there.

Relax everyone. He's probably just getting a divorce after a soul-crushing extra-marital affair, both physical and emotional.
He’s moving in with his side piece......... Guerrero

I’m year to year on this freaking drama show.

First it was he will be a FA next year because he has no contract
Then it was he got a 2 year extension. But it is really only a one year pay raise.
Now it is his house is for sale he is gone next year

PLEEEEEAAAASE. This is media drama. If he wants to retire next year that is his decision.
If he wants to play 3 more years and he is capable of still performing then he is going NO WHERE.

He stated recently that he still enjoys playing and competing. He has stated many times that 45 was his target. He just got a nice pay raise.

Stop it people. We don’t even have a heir apparent yet. I just waited in 45 minute traffic jam at the Tobin Bridge because of fools running with the media and lined up ready to jump

I'm just connecting the dots: he's VERY family oriented with young kids; he doesn't like the new contract terms; he's 42. Why wouldn't he wait 'til he finally is officially done playing here to sell the place?
What dots are you connecting though?

Let me rephrase your own question Why wouldn't he wait 'til he knows what team he signs with as a free agent before he sells the place?

This is shocking news and certainly highlights how close the end is but there really are no dots that can be connected. He has the means to live anywhere and play anywhere so long as he is willing to leave the family behind short term. And there really is zero reason to believe he wants to play anywhere but here.

Dude who doesn't wanna move out of Brookline? Maybe he got tired of all the electric scooters

Are you intimating that fnord was in Massachusetts lately?

Selling a home... especially a home like THAT... can take time. This doesn't surprise me, or make me at all nervous.

...okay... maybe a teensy bit nervous...

The traffic is brutal. His family probably wants to live in a place where it doesn't take 30 minutes to drive 2 miles.

To much is going to be made about this. I'm in the "who cares" faction. Tom Brady is clearly in the year to year part of his career. All I care about is what the Pats are going to be for the 2019 season. Why should I agonize about something that far into the future?

BTW- Why would Brady sign both to sign ANY deal if it was his intention to leave after this season. I have no idea why he chose THIS time to put his home on the market, but it is what it is.

BTW-2 There is no reasonable scenario that any move to the NYC area would entail a move to to the Jets or Giants. Both teams currently have their QB's of the future firmly in place, and if Brady either already owns or plans to buy a smaller place to stay while he's still in Boston we won't know about it.

BTW-3 This was simply a deal that gave Brady a modest (relatively) raise, gave the Pat a modest cap bump, and recognized the reality of the FACT that Brady, at 42 years old, is in the "year to year" stage of his career. There is really no drama here at all.

But regardless this will now be the ultimate narrative for at LEAST the rest of TC.

He apparently signed with a huge “off field marketing” agency the other day. Looks like he’s getting his post playing career ducks in a row.

If Brady was happy going year to year then why make sure the franchise tag was eliminated as a possibility next year? If he was fine going year to year after this season why knock all that money off the table?

The Franchise tag is irrelevant in Brady's case. Both sides know that the Pats would never utilize the franchise tag.

$35+MM would NEVER fit within the Pats current cap situation. Either it wouldn't fit, or take up so much room they'd be hamstrung to do much else to improve the team. In any event Brady was going to be a FA after this season.

So he's looking at Greenwich? Trust me, the traffic is worse there.

I was listening to Felger and Squeaky in the car and Felger said the Patriots are not willing to make a long term commitment so Brady is outta here. Yeah, right, hockey boy. Brady will set the record this year for non-kickers for games played. No one has made a longer term commitment to anybody like the Krafts have made to TFB.

They are also doing the butt hurt Yoko Ono routine with Giselle as the villain. God help us.

I just hope he has a good season, stays healthy, and the Patriots get back to the playoffs. With this defense, they should be very good. What happens next year is what it will be.

I thought the narrative about him selling his Los Angeles home (which was supposed to be his permanent base once upon a time) was that he was going to become more prominent in Boston, move next to Kraft, hobnob with the bigwigs, join the Country Club, and maybe run for office someday.

Maybe none of this is appealing anymore, or just one of these things is unappealing (politics, maybe Kraft).

Not saying he hates Bobby White Shoes.

But... maybe the idea of being chummy with him doesn't appeal.

Brady sees Stidham and sees the writing on the wall.

o_O
Who knows? Maybe we get to watch Stidham get absolutely crushed under the expectations of having to follow an all-time great like Brady even sooner than expected and maybe Brady just wants to sell his house and that’s it. Either way, given his age, stuff like this is going to be big news.
