The Jets would be idiots to do the above. Well, they are idiots in general, but not that stupid.

Do you think Tom Brady having a cup of coffee in E. Rutherford would install some sort of long lasting team culture? Gimme a break. Oh and BTW, what happens to the 3rd year QB they’re trying to develop? (I call him a 3rd year QB because that’s what he will be next year)
The Jets will offer Brady 100 million but he'll turn down and play for the Pats for 10;)

You know the season is nearing when a thread starts to look like the good ol’ “ three-and-out, second quarter of game 3, Brady is done, Belichick can’t draft, season over!” Game Thread.

The hysteria is ridiculous. No wonder it’s Curran whose entire shtick is “Brady and Belichick hate each other” fanning the flames. He can’t wait to be right, integrity be damned.

Curran notes, citing the New York Post, that Brady and Bundchen have been looking for houses in Greenwich, Connecticut and in Alpine, New Jersey.

Wise man. Smart folks move to New Jersey.

Well, apparently you dont live in NJ

Taking the particulars of this contract out of the mix, what have the Patriots done in the past 5 years that would indicate a willingness to pay Tom Brady $30m and $32m a year, respectively, when Brady is 42 and 43?

Nothing. They have never before paid a dime to Tom Brady when he is 42 and 43. I'm afraid that we cannot take this single data point as determinative, however, as there might be confounding factors. For example, he has never before been 42 and 43.

BB absolutely should have played Bishop more....

Oh well.

Rohan Davey. I always wanted a QB with a Lord of the Rings name. Instead, we just got the Lord of the Rings.

Normally I like Curran. He's been one of the more consistent beat reporters. However lately he's become more of a TV guy/personality. And it you are going THAT route, you need to have an "edge"/"gimmick" to show that you aren't a "hometown shill".

For years Brady has been Curran's blind spot, imo. Tom can do NO wrong and every chance he gets he favors his "cause", regardless of whether it's necessary or not. Tom's salary has always been a flash point for him and his comments will always make you believe that Tom is somehow been taken advantage of.

Now most of the media will ALWAYS take the side of the player in a contract dispute. But what's frustrating is that in this case there WAS no dispute, yet they still make inferences from the contract terms (that both parities signed, btw) to imply that they are still at odds.

DRAMA -

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

So that's a total of 20... We're gonna need a longer extension...

I almost moved to Mawah in 1999

Apparently they were spotted in July house hunting in affluent suburbs of NYC. So it's probably a coincidence. I figure Gisele needs to be in NYC a lot more than Boston for her job. And Brady can just rent a condo in Boston during the season like he did prior to 2015.

Yeah hopefully it doesn’t mean the Jets or Giants have a go at persuading him for 2020 at $40m

Methinks they're likely not happy about all the media attention, so they removed it from MLS and will be looking to sell privately instead.....
Yep. I can’t imagine people in the market for $40 million homes are just browsing Zillow for a new place.

Yea Zillow showed over 25k views and 300 saves in just a few hours. I'm trying to sell my house in Boca and had 82 views and 2 saves yesterday. I'm envious, lol.

New Jersey is trash

Agree 100%

Curran is one of the more level-headed mouthpieces but his whole "Tom has issues with BB, the NEP, etc" is bordering on sensationalism.

I think I heard Guerrero is unloading his camper/mobile massage center on YouBid along with open cases of concussion water.

It’s on!!!!!!!!!!

I keep hearing the talking heads bring up Drew Brees over and over again. Did any of them ever compare the two?
Drew Brees: Drew Brees Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money, and Contract History | Over The Cap
Total: $248,933,000 over 19 years
Tom Brady: Tom Brady Contract Details, Salary Cap Charges, Bonus Money, and Contract History | Over The Cap
Total: $222,324,206 over 20 years

So, Brees averaged $13,101,737 per year and Brady averaged $11,116,210 per year. I just don't think this is that big of a difference, especially when you consider that Brees actually got to free agency 4 times, with one of those times resulting in him earning a cool $40 Million in one year. Brady's done pretty darn good for someone that never hit the open market.

This story isn't going away any time soon. We'll be hearing about this throughout the season and into the playoffs. Embrace it.

I do not believe Brady is leaving for another team. I do not believe we should necessarily read too much into this stuff. I do believe renegotiating is an option. I do believe Brady will retire having only played with NE.

All that said : I think it’s borderline insane for some posters to completely dismiss the possibility of Brady moving on. It’s drôle.

(1) California boy (2) married to Brazilian supermodel (3) who still has highly marketable skills (4) and supreme confidence in said skills (4) age 42, not 82.

Millions of 40 somethings change careers and upend their family and young children to move away and work elsewhere. Neither Brady, nor Gisele is necessarily tied to Boston. It’s the area the Dad works.

In the NFL : almost all HoFers played in a city other than the one where they had the most success. Many of them late in their career.

In closing : I don’t think Brady is leaving, but to suggest it’s impossible is strange.

No - it's insane to think the Patriots won't just pay him somewhere close to market value. Oh that's right...Stidham is the answer. Lol.
