I'm going to miss Danny Etling for some reason. :(
Must be the 86 yard run last year.

Apparently it doesn't take much to be a sports writer. Shoot, at least Ben Volin might possibly google something before posting it.

Nah, the MCI couldn't spell Google even if you spotted him the g's and o's.

He'll probably make it to the practice squad and with a lot of luck to the 53 behind Brady and Stidham in 2020...and help in other areas like the scout team then as well.

53 behind Brady and Stidham in 2020

The Etling as a QB train has left the station and will not be seen again.

Did the DB, #29, who was supposed to be outside contain make the team?
He didn't make the team. His name was Leonard Johnson. He played some snaps for the Pats in 2015.

"AND THE EDGE GOES TO...

Meyers. He's been so consistent through camp as a receiver that it's hard right now to envision a scenario in which he's left off the roster. There remains the possibility that both could make the club, especially if Berrios separates himself as a returner. But with Maurice Harris impressing, it looks like there would only be room for one to go along with Edelman, Dorsett and Harry. There's a long way to go in camp and there are plenty of questions to be answered. Can Berrios make a difference as a return man? Can Meyers get open in live situations against top-end competition? Would the Patriots like to keep a low-cut slot as opposed to having several taller wideouts like Meyers, Harris and Harry? Is Meyers' skill set a little redundant when you take into account the others on the depth chart? How would Josh Gordon's reinstatement impact the mix at this position? But with what we know right now, Meyers looks like a steal as an undrafted rookie -- as Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy told you he was -- and he would have to be the pick if there could only be one."

“He’s done a great job and he’s taken advantage of his opportunities,” Brady said. “I think that’s really what we try to stress to anybody. It really doesn’t matter — the football doesn’t care how old you are, whether you were drafted or not. The football doesn’t care how much experience you have. It just knows that when I let that ball go, it’s got to be in the hands of the guy who it’s intended for. If that happens to be him, it’s him. If it’s Julian, it’s Julian. Whoever it is, it doesn’t matter in football.”

Strictly to PS, no further. He has taken zero reps at QB during camp as far as I can tell.

This year I agree. What if their is no Hoyer in 2020? You don't think their is a slight chance he could be QB3 behind Brady and Stidham and also continue to be a valuable asset on the scout team?

I think he has taken some reps at QB...albeit in a white jersey.

Berrios is gone. The guy just can't get any separation, and is easily displaced if you get a hand on him running routes which unfortunately is easy to do because he just doesn't disguise. He hasn't shown any real progress from last year, either in reading coverage or anticipating what Brady is thinking or wants you to do.

Compare with Edelman whose route running, footwork, and ability to evade being rerouted is just on a completely different level. He just doesn't sell anything before the stem of his routes and his ability to sense exactly when to create separation is just uncanny, and his double-moves are something else as well.

The best slot receivers have eyes in the back of their heads and sense where the holes in the defense are going to be. Granted, the sample size has been small but I haven't seen anything like that from Berrios.

Probably will be Brady/Stidham in 2020 if we don't draft yet another QB.

Nobody in a white jersey has ever taken reps at QB. They wear red for a reason (no contact).

Etling has worn a white jersey at QB in camp...no doubt about it.

I haven't seen it, but if you saw that, then well.. more evidence that BB and "conventional" do not belong in the same sentence.
