Somebody help us!!!

so, 3 June...are we done? Nothing feels special about this team
They’ve only come back from 10 down in June to win the division once, back in 1988, so it’s not looking good at 8.5 back.

That said, they should remain right in the thick of the wildcard race, and could have a chance to do what the NYY couldn’t do last season, in terms of beating the division winner in October.

Look at these bums they’ve been trotting out as starting pitchers. Ridiculous. After gaining some momentum earlier in the week with a 4 game winning streak, this is the answer? Going to drop the first two to the Rays this afternoon.

the going nowhere sox.

the going nowhere sox.
What a pathetic lineup they trotted out there, on Sunday afternoon. 5 guys in the lineup batting .247 or less. And a guy (Hernandez) that I’m not even familiar with. Back-to-back weekends that saw them lose 3/4 to co-first place rivals, the Yanks and Rays. Terrible.

For the week, though:

It was great to see back to back gems from Price against the two-headed monster of the NYY and TB Rays. That’s a good sign, as was Sale’s masterpiece the other day.

Unfortunately, they really need another arm to help to bolster the bottom 2-3 of the rotation, especially with Eovaldi hurt and the uncertainty regarding his ability once he returns. In a perfect world, Rodriguez is the 4th starter.

Late inning woes continue.....

10 blown saves on the season! TEN

Team ERA by inning:

7th inning—4.03 ERA

8th inning—3.49 ERA

9th inning—6.00 ERA

Kimbrell finally finds a home, signing with the Cubs on a 3 year deal for 43m dollars.

Sox getting embarrassed by the Yankees on the grand stage of London. 6-0 in the first and the Yankees are still batting. This team sucks and its not like we can trade for anyone since DD has emptied our farm system.

Edit: thought this was the Casual Chat thread.

I can comment about baseball here.

Hey, Sox coming back. Trip across the pond definitely has these pitchers rattled.

You can edit it, but I've immortalized it here by quoting it.

Was fun while it lasted.

After the past week, I'm done until 2 things happen: 1) they acquire a legitimate regular and post-season closer (Kimbrel is the former, not the latter) and get 1 other legitimate middle reliever. This BS is f###### embarrassing.

the front office ownership doesn't care about this years team. when they win. the next year they mail it in.

No trades

Dombrowski is a complete idiot, all of his comments ring hollow.. and no attention paid to developing players, no developing players to trade..

I cannot watch this team any more...

they still have some time left in the season but if the Rays series sweep tells us anything, its that we are not a playoff team. anything can happen but the Sox are pretty much done.
