Really hoping N’Keal Harry doesn’t bust or I will officially accept the fact we have the worst WR scouts in the NFL draft history. It will hurt even worse if Harry busts and a WR selected after him goes on to become a star. Reminiscent of Dobson over Allen in 2013.

Some red flags early on with Harry, but at the same time he has a lot of upside and hopefully can work through it with Brady

NBC Sports Boston going after the clicks...

After being one of the last players out to the practice field. Put two and two together, and the dominos are about to fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Someone should just set up a satirical Patriots reporting site/twitter account to just make up these types of stories to steal material from the media before they can dream up their B.S.

Dude, it's only DAY SIX of training camp. N'Keal has only seen the field for a quick rookie mini-camp, team mini-camp, and now six practices in the summer.

The kid has to learn our complicated Erhardt-Perkins option route trees and work with a QB who is in his 20th season along with an OC who is in his 6-7th season here (with previous stints as well).

That being said....if Harry doesn't pan out and flames out...then I'll agree that we need to reevaluate how we evaluate/draft WR's....maybe even bring in Kevin Colbert as a consultant when his contract runs out in Pittsburgh...the Steelers have drafted some good WR's the last two decades: Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and etc...

I think that Jones is by far our most valuable #5 CB, being our gunner and playing lot of special teams.

Gilmore, McCourty, Jackson, Williams

IMO, Jones should be on the 53.

The open question is whether any of the others are worth a SIXTH CB roster spot: Dawson, Crossen, Webster.

My hunch is that they hang onto Jones as long as they can. He's also a demon gunner, and played by far the most ST snaps of any player who also had significant offensive/defensive responsibilities last year. In fact, if you add defensive + ST snaps Jones was on the field for more plays than guys like Harmon and Flowers.

But the DB logjam is certainly real, and for the first time in a long time they may be cutting some decent talent at LB, too. If Collins is really on the Pat Chung prodigal son path, this defense has some wow potential. Can just one edge rusher please step up?

I hope Harry can get it together and has a steady pre-season and can be a contributor right away. I must admit that I am concerned if this does not quite go to plan and he is given more time.....where do we go from there .......a trade....I had better start looking at teams who have a glut of receivers on their rosters

A few drops aren't a big deal, unless they become habitual. He beat Gilmore on one of the drops -- the only player so far this summer to beat Gilmore. Give it some time. Everyone mentioned that he's also had numerous highlight reel catches so far. He'll become more consistent.

No one will say JJ doesn't deserve to be on the 53.

I know I'll get killed on here for saying it but that video of N'Keal he looks slooooowwww.

Yes he doesn’t look fast or quick. I would not be surprised to see Meyers being the better wr.

It’s not just this clip. I’ve seen Harry and Meyers play in college. Meyers was really underrated. Harry is a good player but besides his size isn’t a dynamic player and against nfl dbs it might be a tough transition.
Andy and I aren't downplaying Meyers. In fact I have him making the 53.

Its the game day thread-esque crap about Harry that is nuts.

He did look slow in that clip though, but his game speed is ok. He’s not a burner and these drops are unlike him, He usually catches stuff in traffic.

I think myers has potential from the cross section of media and those lucky enough to attend the practice sessions. We should try to keep him around as apotential investment for the future. I hope he does well in the pre season games and hopefully that will sway the decision......

Isn't a dynamic player? Are you sure you're not confusing the two? Harry is pretty electric. He's good at making people miss or running them over. He had far more yards and TDs, averaged more yards per reception, and even made plays in the return game. Meyers finished with -8 rushing yards in his career on 10 attempts (compared with 23 attempts for 144 yards and 3 TDs for Harry). Sure, Meyers had some nice catches and solid hands, but I can't imagine watching them and coming away more impressed by Meyers.
