Anyone know when waitlist members are getting the pre-sale email? Seems late this year.

Oh wow that’s awful! That and the exchange were the biggest perks of being on the list. I bet they’ll get rid of playoff ticket access next.

I emailed ticket office r.e. this, here's their response:.

Gillette Stadium Ticket Office (Gillette Stadium)

Jul 18, 9:02 AM EDT

Thank you for your email and interest in the New England Patriots. As the overwhelming majority of Gillette Stadium is occupied by Patriots Season Ticket Members, tickets for individual games are extremely limited.

Please keep in mind that we are only able to host a pre-sale when inventory allows and a pre-sale is not guaranteed.

Should an opportunity be made available, you will be notified in the coming weeks via email. Please be sure to add [email protected] and [email protected] to your address book and/or safe sender list, as the vast majority of communication, including exclusive pre-sale offers, is sent via email.

To enhance the Patriots Member experience, we continually look to utilize the latest technologies, including mobile ticketing. To update your account preferences, please reply back to this email with an updated mobile phone number to add to your account at your convenience. To note, there are no immediate plans in place to move entirely to mobile ticketing.

If you may be interested in premium seating and hospitality options, please contact our Premium Seating Department by emailing [email protected] or calling (508) 384-4370.

Thank you for your continued support of the New England Patriots.

I actually just spoke to a rep at the Patriots ticket office. He said he wasn’t sure, but expected there would be a pre-sale in the next couple of weeks. Would be much later than usual.

Last year was June 26 iirc

They have been saying "next few weeks" for months. I have 2 theories -

1 - it's not happening. they killed the ticket exchange, the public sale, now they are killing the presale. For whatever reason that decided that catering to the waitlist didn't really benefit the team financially.

2 - Because they killed the public sale, there is no rush, so they are waiting to the last possible moment to see if they have any more VIP/group requests, and then have a much smaller presale to get rid of the preseason tickets as late as they can.

It’s still listed on their official website as one of the “perks” of being on the wait list. That would be pretty bad if they just did away with it all together without notice.

How many tickets are usually offered up? 200? 300? And how quick do they sellout?

Last year I got the Miami and Minnesota games and the required preseason games in a matter of 3 or 4 min in separate transactions...then tried for a 3d game and all sold out...I literally logged in within a second of getting the email...they sell fast and I got nosebleeds both games

There are a fair number of tickets total. Definitely in the thousands when spread across all 8 games. If you're in within 5 or 10 minutes of getting the email, you will usually get tickets to SOME game. If you're on perfectly as it arrives, you will usually get tickets to the top-tier games.

Gotta remember, there are 50k+ waitlist members, so you're competing with a lot of people, including a lot of ticket scalpers and resellers that have waitlist accounts.

Sometimes the site gets overwhelmed and will say that games sold out within minutes. I’ve checked back hours later and gotten tickets to those games in the past. It’s a crap shoot.

Though I wonder how many people have dropped off the waitlist now that they got rid of ticketExchange. I bet lots of people were only on the waitlist to be able to be eligible to buy single-game tickets for only 10% over face.

Me too. I've seen some threads other places "is it worth it to be on the waitlist anymore". There were (are?) a number of people on it that had no interest in getting season tickets, and only wanted the amenities the waitlist offers.

If it's gone, what's left? Return ticket portal and maybe playoff presales (those might be dead too!). I'll hang on for my ST's and would have joined anyway, but it's a real bummer to lose access to 2-3 games a year while i wait.

True. it's just a bummer if they aren't selling single tickets this season. One big advantage of being on the list. Oh well.

What's "return ticket portal"?

I was under the impression that with the new NFL agreement with TicketMaster that NE signed onto that anyone can now re-sell tickets through TicketMaster (may have to use some NFL-specific portal) without fear of teams cancelling the tickets.

Patriots will occasionally offer seats that were available to the visiting team if they are unused. Usually get an email a couple days before the game with the opportunity to buy. Tough if you need to plan your game day far in advance like I’m sure many do.

Just to add to that - most of the tickets you would see on the exchange in the days leading up to the game were "returns" from the visiting team. Not all, but most that you might see in the 324/325 area, which is where i've sat a dozen times off the ticket exchange.
