Not really; in fact, he might be the least cat-like member of the TE room, along with Ben Watson - who at least has age as an excuse - and Ryan Izzo.
He also is now the team's most experienced blocker, along with Watson. So he has that going for him...which is nice...

Low risk move at a position where we need the most help.

19 catches for 170 yards and a td last year. That’s pretty much an Edelman playoff game

My top 3 available TEs until a few days ago were in order Ryan Griffin, Jermaine Gresham & Lance Kendricks....If you ain't first you're last, but in this case I'll settle for 3rd...Any legit competition for the thoroughly execrable Matty LaCost is a good thing.

Next up please: Allen Hurns (or Michael Crabtree...or Kelvin Benjamin...or Dez?)

Great, even out of these three we ended with the Shemp on the list order :)

Not sure this is a position of the greatest need for the 90th roster spot - I would have preferred a veteran swing tackle. We are too thin at OT. I love Cannon but he gets injured, so it is Cannon + ???. At TE we have Watson as a backstop, at OT who is the backstop? The fact that Reiss says Dan Skipper might be an unsung hero makes me even more nervous.

Well on the plus side, thankfully Gordon is not with the team at the same time Kendrick is there.

small sample size, only blocking linebackers. Looks serviceable at least. Wonder how well he does against all-pro edge defenders.

He'll get a chance to inprove his blocking skills against the Pats D ....should up his game a bit for the oppositions he'll be facing.....

Another piece added to the Pats Offensive puzzle.....

OL...Check
QB....Check
RB....Check
TE.... ???
WR....TBD

Wynn Cannon
Cajuste
Croston Skipper

I'm perfectly calm, thanks.

I too share your concern about the complete absence of a legit Swing Tackle.

Damn shame that in barely 3 years, we've gone from:
Vollmer - Solder - Cannon - Fleming - Waddle to:
Cannon...Wynn?...Cajuste?...Croston?!?...and Dan Skipper?!?!

That Brandon Cooks trade looks worse every time I think about it.

Wynn Cannon
Cajuste
Croston Skipper
Wynn: Rookie less than one year removed from a torn Achilles' tendon;
Cannon: Elder statesman, always banged-up;
Cajuste: Rookie who's basically been hurt since last Christmas, currently on Active PUP;
Croston: Sucks, and also currently on Active PUP;
The Skipper: Essentially a rookie, and also has injury history.

If we didn't trade Cooks, we couldn't have won any more Super Bowls last year, and we'd be even worse off on the T depth chart than we are now.
