Edelman Injured

My son was with Andelman at his football clinic this past Saturday and made no mention of a bad thumb.

I'm wondering if this Jules injury isn't by design. It gets valuable reps for young WR's and free agents, plus these guys played late into last season. Jules doesn't need the reps...
Totally agree. You definitely get a thumbs up for your observation.

No

We'd never know one way or another.

If I was BB I'd want the young guys getting reps.

Of course not since this idea (injury by design) was made up on the fly...

If the youngsters and free agents need the reps (which they do) the coaches would simply say that.

I heard he got into a competitive thumb wresting match with Brady...and like all things Brady and competition it went pretty far :p

I think somebody was BS'ing you. That can't be what happened, Edelman still has the thumb.

Did he talk about his upcoming Hot Dog Safari?

I am going to go out on a limb a say that BB didn't break his #1 WR's thumb on purpose.

Enforced Foxboro flu

Bubble wrap the veterans and ease them slowly in until week 2-3 of camp. Minimizes injury risk and gives depth guys and rookies more snaps.

From that point of view this is the best timing possible for this sort of injury.

I’m thinking BB wants all guys getting reps.
Jules doesn't need reps, if he does he got them all season in private workouts with Tom. Edelman could play tomorrow if need be and would be the best WR on the field.

Back in 2003 BB needed a free safety and nickel corner, he started rookies Asante Samuel and Eugene Wilson all through camp and preseason. Eugene Poole even complained about it, because he told BB when he signed he would come in late. Game 1 Wilson was starting at FS and Samuel at nickel back. Young guys need reps, old guys get their reps and need rest.

Little Julian Horner
Sat in TB's corner,
Eating his Golden Boy Stew;
He put in his thumb,
And coughed out some phlegm,
And said, "I've the Foxborough Flu!"

If JE didn't have a problem with his thumb on Saturday then he hurt it on Sunday. How he hurt it could become a conspiracy.

I'm guessing Jules and Brady went cliff jumping and Brady had to give him a little pull to get him to jump.

Give him the gronk preseason

American ladders and scaffolds. We take you higher. We take you higher.

Then you would give the young guys reps. There is no reason to fake an injury to do so. Ridiculous idea.

I bet his thumb got injured when Brady yanked at his hand jumping from the cliff when Edelman was not ready.

A training camp already with no Gronk and no Edelman? Yikes
