Would it matter? Are the discs merely metal encased in plastic, and not some larger symbolic totem? Just a routine financial transaction?

Or... would that person now be considered less of a fan? Could they be shunned... stoned... even banned from PatsFans.com?

What if you sold it to another Pats fan, though? Is it considered a passing of the banners?

I say we convene our tribal council for this matter ...
We'll let out tribal elders have their say...

When I get around to converting mine to mp4s and putting them on my plex then I'd sell them.

But my VHS of the 2001 SB win that my deceased grandfather made for me and cut out the commercials with his 2 VCR pirating system? That **** ain't never being sold.

Hissssss!

I’m sorry to hear about your grandfather.

I’m guessing the police shot him when they found out that he was violating the NET Act?

Just sell the junk while it still has value. The Patriot way!

Maybe he had Implied Verbal permission, not Expressed Written permission.

Actually that’s what happened. A guy in Vegas who never realized these existed back in the day. He was waiting to get an affordable price.

I sold them for $120. More than I paid.

Plus, in the deal, I got back a 5th rounder in next years draft. :)

Thanks, but it was 16 years ago that he passed. He was my primary male influence but was also a person with a very bad past. I wasn't trying to ask for sympathy more just highlight how it was a thing of sentimental value for that.

I'm not gonna google the NET act I'll just pretend like I know what it is.

Is there a reasonably easy way to convert VHS to to a digital file? Just curious.

We did that with our wedding video from 1995. Came out ok but the audio sounds better on the vhs. Very weird.

I paid someone to do it. I do not know how to do it

But... why? $120 is nothing.

Agreed on the "why" part -- those videos are essential keepsakes for any dedicated Patriots fan. BUT, $120 is not nothing. Like, a week's worth of groceries including a few pricey goodies.

Part of a massive pre-Florida-move clean out of DVD’s, CD’s and my 12 long boxes full of Marvel comics.

Not to everyone. That being said, the physical medium is of minimal value to me.

It's like this people who romanticize books. Who ****ing cares if it is digital or written on the corpse of a tree ffs.

Done it before by running video/sound wires from the VCR to a Sony DVD handy cam (circa 2004-5ish) that could burn to mini DVD's ...then added to the PC.

Am sure it is a lot easier to do these days.

I know you weren’t. That’s why I dropped a little joke to lighten the mood. I knew my audience.
