Flying from Texas to Boston next weekend with my daughter and son . . . Will be headed to training camp Saturday morning, then try to catch the Yankees-Sox game Saturday afternoon. My kids want to sit "in the Green Monster." What seats/sections should I look for? Where can I buy tickets without the StubHub or Ticketmaster markup?

Yankees red sox tickets on a weeks notice without markup, good luck.

The last few times I took my kids I got standing room only tickets for the first base pavilion side. Very cheap, a vendor's booth right behind you and plenty of good views.

There were seats open to sit in so we did although that may not be the case for a yanks game.

Don't bother. Your kids will fall asleep and you'll spend most of your time surfing your smartphone.

A couple buddies and I flew from Texas for the Patriots-Texans season opener last year after catching the Astros-Red Sox game Saturday night. Great town and great trip.

As Andy said, I can't imagine you're going to find Yankees-Red Sox tickets without a huge markup, and tickets on the Green Monster are the worst. What you could do possibly is buy 3 "cheaper" seats, and set up a tour of Fenway Park for before the game. (Not sure where to look online, one of the other guys set it up) Part of the tour is sitting on the Monster during batting practice after standing on the field behind home plate and having a chance at some autographs. In fact I would suggest the tour regardless of where you sit, it's a pretty amazing ballpark.

I'm not sure how long you'll be in Boston but if you have an extra day and your kids are old enough to appreciate history, I HIGHLY recommend walking the Freedom Trail. It starts in the oldest city park in the United States, and the one of the sites along the way is a cemetery where Paul Revere, Sam Adams and John Hancock are buried.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

There are only around 250 total seats located in the green monster, so you’d have an extremely difficult time finding seats on a Wednesday afternoon against the Orioles, let alone a Saturday game against the Yankees.

I’m sure you could find them on one of the broker sites if money wasn’t an issue, but you’re always going to see massive markup for seats as rare as these. I’ve read stories about people scoring them when they initially go on sale, but you’d have to be lucky.

Solid advice about the stadium tour. That sounds like it would be really cool to experience.

Thanks for all the help and responses. Was able to get (3) standing room only seats in the Monster for the Saturday afternoon game. Will try to do the tour also. At least we can say we were there.

The SRO seats will be great. The kids aren’t likely to care whether they’re sitting or standing. You’ll be more than “just there.” Have a good time.

In the good old days ( Think Soup Campbell) bleacher seats were $3 ( they went up a buck when they signed him) one of us would distract the security guard at the divider between bleachers and general admission while the others snuck into the rest of the park to get good seats.... leaving the distractor to sit by his lonesome in the bleachers while his friends worked their way down to the good seats.. We rotated so you only had to do that once every 5 or 6 times...

$3

Are you 115 years old? ;)

$3 was for a night or weekend game. In the early 70's during the week day games were the norm. Bleacher seats were $1 with a student id (IIRC $1.50 without) and a beer was 50¢. Not a bad deal for spending the afternoon day drinkin' and batting beach balls around with the coeds that went there to sun themselves. The hardcore Fenway Faithful called us the Bleacher Creatures but man those bleachers were the place to be. It was a 15 minute walk from Northeastern to Fenway, usually took considerably longer to stagger back o_O

Agreeing with yet another “baseball sucks” post from this guy, @robertweathers? Sad!!
Woa....

My "Agree" wasn't that baseball sucks. My agree was that little kids fall asleep during night games. When mine were in the single digits in age they did all the time during night games.

....And I like @Tunescribe just as I like you.

Chill man.

My Trumpian “sad” was supposed to show my chillness about it lol. I hear you about the kids, it was the you’ll be surfing on your phone bit that made it a baseball sucks post. But gotcha on the agree. (I won’t add “I like you too” to prevent this getting uncomfortable for everyone.)

Yea i'll check mail or look up stats but I won't be checking social media or Patsfans during a ball game. Not at $350 a night....

Maybe you will get lucky and see Eck punch out Price before the game.

I despise Price.

What an emotionally fragile, hyper-sensitive, winey, insecure, rabbit ear wearing doochbag.

I spent numerous evenings/afternoons in the $1 bleacher seats during my time at NU in the late '70s. Would get to the gate early enough to grab front row seats in center field.
