NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

Agree with some of what you said borg but most times with some of these NBA Big men you just never know. They could groom Taco to be a rim protector but Stretch Fives now neutralize those type of players. That said he's never going to be an offensive powerhouse but if he can get up and down the field and work on his lateral quickness or reaction to the ball we might have something.
He can get up and down the floor just fine.
He just can’t jump which essentially means he has no explosion to go after balls that don’t fall into his orbit
I’m hoping he can’t jump because he never had to and this skill can be trained in.
If not
Useless
A 7’6” guy should be dominating the boards against summer league scrubs and shorties.
Yet he seems incapable right now
He needs combine type training.... lots of it...:not 15th man DNP status with an occasional practice and walk throughs fitted in between flights

One thing I disliked so far this off-season with the Celtics is the Daniel Theis signing. I don't know what he does well and its seems like he's always injured. That said I Love the Kanter signing.
Does everything OK. Bangs around. Can shoot a little. OK rebounder. Good energy. Nothing wrong with Theis.

Kanter needs to prove he can play D.

Damn, you really underrate some guys...
I rate them as JAGs whose jobs could be swapped out with all the league’s other JAGs.

I had hope for Semi because he showed he could shoot...but the Brad just shelved him because of Hayward’s return after Semi’s nice 1st year.

Everyone is a JAG to an extent....(shrugs)...thanks for the clarification.

His issue with rebounding is his lack of fighting for position. He's content to stay behind defenders and try jumping over them. Whether that's by coaching design or not is a question I'd like answered, along with the question of why his only offensive setups are bottom left corner of the backboard and setting a pick at top that doesn't involve any threat of a return pass.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of what we're seeing from Tacko, and a lot of other players, is because the offense has been geared around the 3 draftees.

Tacko Fall apparently can jump some.....he had a 12"3" vertical at the NBA combine (enough to reach the top of the back board).

Nothing wrong with Theis.
Arguably the Celtics biggest defensive liability, especially now that Flat Earther is gone.
Theis has become entrenched in the Amir Johnson slot reserved for light in the britches defensive shells.
Williams gets the fat asses slot vacated by Yabu.
Danny has a system
A system that doesn’t includes drafting bonafide shooters

Considering the FG crossbar is 10' tall, Tacko could be a ST contributor by being brought in to block FG attempts longer than 50 yards. He's also be a great RZ threat for pass plays inside 5 yards.

Problem is if hes tackled hard he'd break in 1/2.

Yea Theis is not a stopper.

The man does not jump
Stop seeing what isn’t there

My hope for Kanter is that his offense and rebounding make us not talk about his defense

I'm watching the games. I'm re-watching the games. I'm focusing on the two centers, Fall and Williams, more than any other players, as that's the weakest position on the roster.

My post stands.

Shot almost 39 percent from 3 last year. None of their other bigs can shoot the 3.

Theis is awful and gets paid $5 mill per year with his new deal.
Gives Hayward someone to talk to?
Theis is not awful.
