1. 2013 Seattle Seahawks

Hard to have a problem with this one

2. 2015 Carolina Panthers

15-1, 1st in PF, 6th in PA. Embarrased 13-3 Cardinals in NFCCG. I remember not feeling so badly about the lost to the Broncos after that game. Then they promptly embarrased themselves by losing to the corpse of Peyton Manning... if not for that hard to disagree with this.

3. 2017 Philadelphia Eagles

13-3 (including Mulligan loss w17). 3rd in PF, 4th in PA. Won SB with backup QB.

4. 2016 New England Patriots

Great team. Should need to further explanation.

5. 2013 Denver Broncos

Stupendous offense. But only 22 in PA. Embarrassed themselves in SB from literally the opening snap.

6. 2015 Arizona Cardinals

13-3. 2 PF, 7 PA. Carson Palmer as starting QB... See entry on 2015 Panthers for playoff performance.

7. 2012 San Francisco 49ers

11-4-1. 11 PF, 2 PA. Can't think of anything else about them.

8. 2011 Green Bay Packers

15-1. Similar to 2013 Broncos: 1st in PF, 19 PA. Except they embarrassed themselves in the divisional round in SB.

9. 2018 Kansas City Chiefs

12-4. Another GB/Den team: 1st in PF, 24th in PA. All 4 losses were competitive and to good teams. Should probably be ahead of Packers given they at least didn't embarrass themselves in the playoffs.

10. 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars

10-6 record. But surprisingly 5th in PF, 2 in PA.

Not totally sure about that.

IMO the 2013 Hawks were a superior team to the 2014 team.

Probably. It'd be competitive though. Seahawks usually give the Pats a tough game. But then the Seahawks can pretty much give anybody a tough game.

It's idiotic to have only one team per year of top ten teams of the decade.

The 2011 Packers don't make my list because they went 0-1 in the playoffs. How can you be a "best team" if you can't win a post-season game, especially coming off a super bowl win in 2010?

Not completely sure of the order, but here's my 1 -10 since 2011

2016 Patriots
2013 Seahawks
2018 Chiefs
2014 Patriots
2017 Eagles
2016 Falcons
2015 Panthers
2015 Broncos
2012 Ravens
2011 Patriots

Ranking the SB Winners from 2010-present

1. 2016 Patriots (17-2)
2. 2013 Seahawks (16-3)
3. 2014 Patriots (15-4)
4. 2017 Eagles (16-3)
5. 2010 Packers (13-6)
6. 2018 Patriots (13-6)
7. 2015 Broncos (15-4)
8. 2012 Ravens (13-6)
9. 2011 Giants (12-7)

If you're looking for accuracy you don't read nfl.com. I can't tell you how many times I've read an inaccurate article with an incorrect statement or stat on their website. They must have no editor. It's that bad.

I'm the last person to care about spelling errors, but the sheer volume of such I've found on NFL.com can't bode well for the possible existence of other (content) errors. I've definitely seen some incorrect facts in there as well.

It's pretty remarkable how little effort you have to put into a website if you have the right domain name and are run by the right company. Leads to people citing bad positional roster listings, likely written by a 20 year old tech intern, on Patriots.com as fact, and opinions from NFL.com as "official".

I have some big problems with that list, but not because there are only 3 SB winners on it.

When you have a champion determined by a single-elimination tournament you're going to have the SB winner not be the best team a bunch of times.

2016 was arguably Brady's second best season, period, in spite of missing Gronk for so much of it. AND they had the #1 scoring defense in football. Give him Gronk in those playoffs and everybody's dead.

Silly list.

The 2013 Seahawks were downright lethal once they had Percy Harvin healthy for the Super Bowl.

2011 Pats?

I get they’re low on the list, but cmon now. That secondary was historically bad.

That’s true, but the Patriots can go 3-13 this season and still have the best decade Winning %in history. Additionally they are the only repeat winner this decade, and they have been in the last 8 AFCCG’s, and 5 Super Bowl’s, winning 3 of them. They didn’t win one game a few times, they owned the NFL.

Evidently, the author said no franchise would be named more than once.

Ok, that key criteria certainly helps explain the rationale for some of these picks.

Think about it, that eliminates 27% of the teams from consideration (many of them probably good teams).

With 9 seasons in consideration, that's 32 teams * 9 seasons = 288 teams.

But the ten selected teams each have 8 seasons that can't be considered, so that's 10*8= 80 teams that are ineligible.

80/288 = 27.777%, so over 1/4 of the teams are out of scope....so yes, there are going to be some eyebrows raised by who makes it in

I agree, the 2011 Packers and 2011 Saints were clearly better teams than the 2011 Pats. so that's at least two teams from their own season that were clearly better

2011 49ers were sneaky good as well.

2016 Patriots were 3rd in Points scored and 1st in Points allowed. And this is with basically taking a mulligan on offense for week 4.

Given a healthy Gronk the 2016 Patriots wipe the floor with any team on the list.
I'd rank them number 1 for all it's worth.
