Clearly they weren’t quite correct.
Parsing those words in your post, they were not incorrect at all. They didn’t say there was NO risk. Just not more than anyone else.

If I were his wife, I’d have a thing or two to say about the advice to cheerfully allow him to prance back onto a football field years ago when he’s clearly prone to these. They made it sound like he had an unlikely fluke when he obviously didn’t.
As I mentioned before, the stroke that Tedy had originally was because of a hole in his heart. Otherwise known as a Patent Foramen Ovale. They went in a fixed it with surgery.
Could you provide your proof that the two strokes are related? That they were both caused by the PFO?
Could you provide your proof that returning to the football field led to this stroke?
Could you provide your proof that Tedy is "prone" to strokes when you don't know the cause of the 2nd one?
It seems to me that you are making a helluva lot of assumptions based on a position of ignorance. You seem to have fallen into the trap that Correlation somehow equals causation and that's just not the case based on the information available.
Maybe Tedy Bruschi the onetime football player isn't prone to these. Maybe Tedy Bruschi the human being is. Maybe it's the marathons. If I were his wife, I’d have a thing or two to say about the advice to cheerfully allow him to prance back onto a football field years ago when he’s clearly prone to these. I hope his wife and kids aren't busy blamestorming about this.

Chris
Exactly. There are 3 different types of strokes which are caused by multiple things. Tedy had TIA in 2005. He's had consussions. He's been on various medications. He might have an irregular heartbeat. Who knows. As I mentioned before, the stroke that Tedy had originally was because of a hole in his heart. Otherwise known as a Patent Foramen Ovale. They went in a fixed it with surgery.

Tedy is the defensive complement to Tom. Pretty much the stuff that makes us most proud to root for the team, the hell with wins or losses. Bruschi's imprint and influence is still all over the place here today, years after his retirement. So I’ve done some research on the type of stroke he’s had and it sounds like it’s a lack of blood too a portion of the brain and that can cause stroke like symptoms but they should resolve within 24 hours. The biggest key I think is he recognised it quickly and is getting the help he needs. He is the embodiment of what being a patriot is. Him, Law, Seymour, Willie, and a lot more invented the Patriot way. Will never forget his speech after the 04 play offs against the colts.

Typically classy of Tedy, is that he utilized his celebrity to expand and promote awareness of this issue. At least with regard to this incident, the good news is that he is likely to be just fine. A “TIA” is a transient ischemic attack, which is essentially a “mini stroke” which resolves often on its own without any residual deficits. This is much different than a true stroke or a cerebrovascular accident, which often results in death of brain tissue and can have permanent functional consequences.
Severe angina is like a TIA of the heart....symptoms from lack of oxygen to the heart muscle (myocardium) but no tissue death (myocardial infarction).
_....................................................No...auguri #54...riprenditi...all the best Tedy...i saw him live in Atlanta at Super Bowl and he looked so good..
I’m sure you and all of us have said “if I were” many many times. You’re not his wife. Heidi is. A strong, smart, former athlete in her own right.
Instead of giving uninformed (as @DaBruinz has clearly shown yours to be) “but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express” medical opinions from miles away, perhaps you let her speak for herself. She deserves the respect not to have people snark “Well if I was his wife, I would’ve done things differently”. You’re better than that.
