You’re right and most don’t agree with me. I’m going off my playing experience against the two. As I studied both QBs going into battle I thought Brady was easier to figure out. I’ve said this for years. Unless you’re on the field against Peyton...

Well duh! You go for Brady's knees, no problem done for the season. You go for Manning's knee. You got the vile Manning family harassing you for an eternity, over and over like they did to Peyton Manning's victim. Heck they might even send some goons over to mess you up. Definitely a lot harder to figure out that sexual predator when he's so protected by his family and media.

Brady always did more with less. Manning always did less with more. What would Brady have done with the likes of Harrison and Wayne for his entire career? I bet he would've done more than Manning did. I mean some of those Colts teams were stacked. Bethea, Freeney, Sanders, Saturday, Clark, Harrison, Freeney, Hayden, Stokley, Brackett, and James. Meanwhile, Brady won SB's with the likes of Graham, Patton, and Givens. Branch was a step above those guys. But it's no coincidence his best years were with Brady. Tom makes everyone around him better. Can the same be said for Manning? During his Colts tenure, Manning went one and done 7 times. During his Broncos tenure, he went one and done twice in four years. Brady has had "average" SB's (SB 42, 46, and SB 53). But has he had anything as bad as Manning did against the LOB? Nope. In fact he shredded the same LOB team one year later. And we all know how Manning fared against Carolina. Yikes. Manning will never be thought of as a greater QB than Brady. Peyton was your guy if you wanted to win fantasy. Brady was your guy if you wanted to see a team win titles.

Sometimes pundits get caught up in sexy numbers. For example, Rodgers just had a season with the least amount of interceptions ever (Or something like that). Impressive. Right? That is until you watch the actual games and see Rodgers throwing the ball away consistently to protect his stats. Obviously Rodgers is going to have less interceptions when he isn't willing to take high percentage chances.

Joe Montana agrees with you today. He doesn't want Brady to be the "GOAT".

I don’t remember Joe protesting about comparing different eras when he was the GOAT. Weird.

The Colts ran one concept.

Being “harder to figure out” does not make you a greater QB. I’ve been saying for years that’s proof that Brady is the best. At the end of games, like in the SB or postseason, there are no tricks left and the Patriots aren’t outsmarting teams. The other team knows the ball is going to point A or point B. KC game last year is a perfect example. This is where Brady thrives and Manning sucks. Brady has balls and makes high risk throws into tight windows. Manning pukes on himself.

Anyway, one former player on Twitter who concedes Brady is the still the second best player. That’s all that remains of the former Manning > Brady army.

Meh, still not sold...:D

Is there any debate any more? I mean, really, I get that we are a bunch of homers that love our guy, but really? He's clearly #1. the question is ... is he the best football player ever? He's certainly not the best athlete, but the real debate in my book is where does he rank on best all-time player list. Rice, LT, Brady, Brown, Payton...

Bird was never considered the best athlete either - but many (including a lot of his peers) rank him the NBA GoAT.

Wait, what???

Who says that Bird is the GOAT BB player? What peers?

There was a point in the middle of his career 85/86 ish when Bird won his 3rd straight MVP and there was some discussion of Bird being the greatest player of all-time. (Sports Illustrated Living Legend article) It was short lived and was never near the consensus that Michael Jordan ultimately attained. To many people, Magic passed him by the late 90's and then once Jordan started winning the talk completely died. Many then considered him the greatest forward of all time but even that has now been surpassed by LeBron to most.

The only only all time player that I think could engender a decent argument against Brady would be Jim Brown. 1st team all pro virtually every year of his career and he played at a time when RB was the most important position on the field. He gets hurt because he quit relatively early. Sorry Jim, close but no cigar.

LT and Rice were extremely dominant but because those positions do not have nearly the impact of QB fall short to me. (plus LT had a relatively short peak)

Otto Graham

Brown was a 1x champ, so RB apparently wasn’t that important.

Otto Graham had dad bod. Nuff said.

Have you seen photos of NFL locker rooms in the 40's and 50's? They weren't fat like the lineman are today. Nor were they as muscle bound, of course. But in terms of long term health, they were better off.

Who says that Bird is the GOAT BB player? What peers?
Red Auerbach said that in the late-80s. That’s the last time I heard it. :(

Kareem Abdul feels Bird is the GOAT, he played against Wilt, with Magic Jordan and has seen LeBron.

Really? That is not what he said. Not even close. He rattled off a half dozen names and when he came to Bird he said "Bird could do anything." He never came close to definitively saying Bird was the GOAT.

I get that the Larry Bird homers dont want to hear it. But saying Bird is the GOAT BB player of all time is an insult to Tom Brady.

Get some perspective and objectivity homers. You scare me.

Maybe one of the GOAT small forwards ... that is so hard comparing NBA players.
There is Lebroni, Bird, Erving, and Durant among a few others.

To me the GOAT is Michael Jordan ... even that depends on one's age.

so...Brady #1 QB in history NOW? Well, that must be the best nationwide vaccine even given out in US history.I thought the epidemic of blind, moronic Brady hatred would never be remedied.
