No. I just know that Philly is massively overhyped. I have huge hope for Williams to be the Embiid stopper and Horford does not scare me. Put the new Williams kid on Horford and watch him struggle. This isn’t goggles. Goggles would be they are the best. As of right now the Bucks are clear, and if KL leaves Toronto, they are on par with them.
Williams is a curious one. At some point, the Celtics, like the Knicks did with Mitchell Robinson, are going to have to throw him to the wolves and see what he's got. For mine, all he needs to do is show he's proficient in the paint, OK on the pick and roll and plays hard D. I don't want him standing on the perimeter to accommodate Stevens' floor spacing ********.

No, you don't know that Philly is massively overhyped. You keep making those sorts of claims, yet you have nothing to back them up.

I do have plenty. Simmons cannot shoot yet he is pointed at as a big force. He is not. He is a NBA markering, fabricated, hyped player that never got off the ground. Then they turned to Lonzo. That didn’t work either. People fall for this stuff hook line and sinker. Horford is aging. Embiid has a motor issue plus injury issues.

They don’t scare me. Never have. I just don’t think they have true winners. The only player that consistently pissed me off was Reddick. Dude was a massive pest. He is gone now too.

Agreed. All that has been heard he is working hard and really progressing. I found this video of my binky Tacko. There HAS to be a spot on the roster for this guy. Is he great? No. Lots to work on? Of course. But man...

Yeah I know it is just half court sets but he seems to have some skill.

To be honest I think Manning brought out the best in Brady, as he didn’t only have to play at the top of his game, but he was facing an all time great in the biggest game’s of the season, year after year. Brady knew this and it was one of the driving forces for him. Brady kept playing at the highest level, and just passed Manning in ways that made the argument moot, then he did the same to Montana. Now there is no debate.

None of that fits the criteria of backing up your claim. It just fits you making lame excuses to dismiss a team that's, as of now, obviously superior to your preferred choice. Horford's aging isn't going to destroy his game this year. Embiid is a better player than anyone the Celtics have, and will be able to rest more this season. Simmons can still impact a game even though he doesn't have the shooting ability that God gave a blind infant.

Oh, and Philly won more games than Boston last year, and got further into the playoffs, taking the Raptors to the very end of game 7 in their series, while Boston was getting ***** slapped by Milwaukee.

Who's gonna land Carlos Boozer???

I don't agree.

BB brought the best out of Brady as he knew if he fell off, he'd lose his job

We could say this was an attitude he gained while at Michigan.

Try taking of the 9 inch thick Celtics goggles. With Horford in Philly, Boston has no player who's established that he can really guard a big 4 or a 5. And you seem to have forgotten about Richardson when it comes to shooters.

Kanter put up 32 points and 22 rebounds against Embiid.....there’s much more to the game than the one thing you suggest

I am also factoring in removing a cancerous growth and all of a sudden everything gets better. Add in a high level antibiotic in Kemba and I am expecting major things. Horfords game slowed down last season. He started missing so many bunnies that were puzzling. Still a great mid range and at times 3PT shooter, but unless he consistently gets switched onto a guard he will have a hard time with Jaylen, Tatum and or Hayward.

I’m glad people are pumping up Philly. When they crash down it will be that much nicer.

Anyone can play the "Everything's a negative" game. But you're going even beyond that, and talking about cancers and antibiotics as if you know exactly what went down last year, when you obviously don't. For example:

  • Tatum took a huge step back last year. He's overhyped.
  • Brown still can't dribble.
  • Hayward is a shell of his former self.
  • Smart can't shoot, but he obviously thinks he can, because he takes so many terrible shots.
  • Neither Morris nor Baynes look to be coming back, which means that there's no toughness in this team's front court.
  • Celtics lost a great leadership and calming guy when Horford walked away.
  • Etc...

Offering that one sided take is the same thing you've been doing post after post. In the end, all you're doing is equating your hopes with facts, and doing a really ****ty job of analysis by ignoring the positives of one team and the negatives of another.

When did Brady face Manning in the biggest game of the year? SBs are the biggest game of the year.
Brady didn’t play against manning he played against the defense.

“Biggest game of the year” refers to one of the few times Manning’s team was too stacked for him to go one-and-done, whereby they played a down year version of the Patriots (carried by Brady) in the AFCCG. Patriots would have played them at home in 2007, 2012, and 2014 but for the choke artist failing to qualify, so they had to play 3 of 4 at the choke artist’s home field where he had every conceivable advantage.

Everything you listed outside of Brown can’t dribble is fixed by ridding themselves of Kyrie. Or at least it should.

Tatum I am assuming will be like year 1 Tatum and not year 2.

Brown..I give you that one. Who knows.

Hayward has a full offseason to prep. Coaches say he looks vastly better. I am assuming this will be more All Star Gordon than crappy Gordon.

Smart is what Smart is. My feeling is he will take less shots as it seemed he did later in the season last year. More quality looks than volume.

I have high hopes for Timelord. Again, all reports are that he is in the gym daily and the progress reports are good. We shall see in the end.

Morris and Baynes? Wish they could have kept Baynes but Morris isn’t a loss in my opinion.

How great of a leader was Horford really? He bowed to Kyrie and his “it was my fault Kyrie” when it wasn’t beta move didn’t show much leadership at least not last year.

So no I am looking at projections. I know what Philly has. Butler scared me more than Richardson. He left too. They have a good team. To say they are far and away better than the Celtics is pretty strong. Will they be better? Maybe. But it isn’t as far as you think.
