Help me... I'm watching old non-Patriots football games on the NFL Network... and I can't stop...

"Hi, I'm oldrover, and I'm an NFL-oholic."

On Memorial Day the NFL network played through their inventory of hour long Super Bowl seasons. It's a relatively in-depth look at the entire season of the Super Bowl champion; I had never seen any of these before. I recorded all the ones involving the Patriots but ultimately wasn't interested in learning about the Giants (or even Eagles) seasons but did watch 5 Patriot Super Bowl season stories (not one for this year yet) and they were great. A lot of adversity in each season that I had forgotten about. It's not easy to reach and/or win the Super Bowl. And, yes, I watched them all on Memorial Day. :)

On my DVR right now:

-Super Bowl Classics: pretty much every Patriots Super Bowl win, 3 hrs. each
-Turning Point: 30 minute highlight shows of every Patriots Super Bowl win
-Super Bowl highlights: 30 minute recap of every Patriots Super Bowl win.
-The Brady 6
-A Football Life: Rodney Harrison, Wes Welker, Willie McGinest, Bill Belichick "Do your Job", parts I and II

Then there's my 3 games to Glory DVDs.

I have watched everything at least once this off season and it's only July 1.

My wife thinks I'm crazy. She walks into the room while I am re-watching a Super Bowl comeback and jokes "so, do you think that they are still going to win it?"

I saw a commercial for an upcoming replay - 2007 Week 17 Pats @ Giants - obviously the SB didn't end up how we'd all like, but this was one hell of a way to end the regular season. Tonight @ 8pm EST

NFL CLASSIC GAMES
"NFL Classic Games" - New England Patriots vs. New York Giants (12/29/07) - Down by 12 early in the 3rd quarter, the Patriots string together 22 points to push past the Giants and complete their perfect 16-0 regular season. Tom Brady and Eli Manning combined for six TDs on 607 yards.

I'd drop everything to repeatedly watch

A Football Life: Julius Adams

or

The Timeline: Building the 1970's Patriots

or

America's Game: Stolen Rings - The 1976 Patriots

or

30 for 30: Patriots Hero Houston Antwine

Here are some on YouTube.

Thank God the Pats beat the Broncos, or I wouldn't have gotten to sleep tonight.
BB would have a nervous breakdown if they Pats Played that sloppy.

I had the same thought watching this game a few days ago. Steve Grogan was tough but was a intercepting machine at the worst time. The 1979 and 1980 teams should have been playoff teams.

I made the mistake of crawling down that rabbit hole. I actually think I remember staying up late and watching that game because it was about the time I was becoming brainwashed as a sports fan. Then I realized that was almost 40 phucking years ago...I'M GETTING OLD.

Newsflash: People on Patsfan love football.

I pay for Gamepass and that has all the games back to 2012, which means I re-watch a Pats game most days. The format is compressed into 40 minutes, which suits me fine -- it gives the added pleasure of having Dan Fouts cut off in mid-sentence when he is squealing about something good that happens to the Pats.

The NFL are great at making people take stuff down from YouTube, so why don't they make earlier games available to the people who pay for the material? Damn them!

Good for you! Getting old is much better than the alternative.

Here is a great one:

EDIT: If you don't have time for it all, look at 1:59:40, at least!

I generally watch DVR'd Patriots Super Bowls, America's Game, Three Games to Glory, or NFLN all year round. My wife used to walk in the room and say"you're watching this again?!". She doesn't anymore, she just expects it now.

The famous Underwood int game or O'Brien-Brady blowup, back when Edelman was playing DB.......

Not just that! Rex Grossman carving up the Pats with a 34-year-old Santana Moss, Donte Stallworth and Jab Gaffney, and Rob Gronkowski putting the team on his back -- 10 catches for 160 yards, two touchdowns and THIS play:

(You've got to love the way number 23 is standing just watching because he thinks his two buddies have Gronk wrapped up when, suddenly, the monster throws them off and he's away!)

I can't be bothered to make a new thread so I'll just do it right here. NFL Yearbook/Team highlights starts airing on Sunday July 14th from 1 PM to 3 PM ET One division per day. Last day is Sunday July 21st.

Then on July 22nd NFL top 100 of 2019 starts. 10 players a day, airs at 9 PM ET.

Don't forget to program your DVR's, etc, etc.
