You are right, for some reason Kanter outplayed Adams in the Portland OKC playoff series (although Adams was hardly the only problem), but make no mistake, Adams is a far superior center, that is why Kanter (who was older) was let go by OKC in favor of Adams. I think Kanter is a good addition at his bargain price, because he can get hot and really be an offensive force. The problem is that he is so bad defensively, teams that decide to go at him can run up the score on him. He is best used as a “heat check” guy off the bench when a scoring center is resting on the bench.
I hope we can find a center that can play some defense to compliment him. If so, the Celtics could make some noise this year.
You’re taking an individual aspect and running with it ... In the end, it wasn’t like Horford was stopping anything....he’s a more consistent rebounder than horford was.
But yeah, we could probably use one more big.
I will say Kanter at his number is much better than Horford at his....and it’s not close....Kanter has a reason to put an effort in....he will be 28 when he can exercise his player option next year.
