2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

No sir, the Blues are Stanley Cup champs. Each had our shot in game 7, one team showed up and one did not. You can call us illigitimate champs or place an * to downplay what happened last night if it makes you feel better.

I was waiting for that. I have no problem watching a team i route for lose. I do have a problem with them getting jobbed. And the fact is, game 7 never should have happened. If the refa call things legitimately, we likely dont get passed 5. But alas, the league let em goon it up AND GIFT WRAPPED GAME 5, with felatio to boot. I don't care if the blues were playing the canadiens, if rhe same **** happened, id say the same.

That is what is lost in all this. The ******** un game 5 takes everything away from all involved. There isnt a player in st louis that will tell you it wasnt a penalty. The offending goon said as much in the postgame, and started arguing against rhe call that never came on live tv. He knew it was a penalty, along with any (uneducated on the sport, even) hockey fan.

Im sorry, they could have won 10-0 last night, and it would still be the cup that the league gave away because...the rams left st louis and the 4th tier sports league wants to fill the void the top tier left? Cinderella hooes and dreams will drum up interest going forward? Those are the only plausinke explanations outside of the league ensuring it went 7, results be damned. Either way, the league willingly made a mockery of its championship. Thats what the st louis blues get to think about when "reminiscing" about trying to end careers and needing the refs to literally hand them a free w in order to bring it home.

Enjoy the once greatest trophy in sport, its been treated like a 50 cent grocery store trinket this year. It's like bragging to your buddies that you bagged a real princess, but leaving out the part where you had to go dig up Diana to do it.

Again, that is a horrible argument. Just because both teams had a shot in game 7 doesn’t erase the transgressions of the previous 6. Game 7 may not even occur if the engineering doesn’t happen. Also, the Blues only won the series against the Sharks because half their stars were out or injured.

Nobody cares about the Blues winning and will be forgotten tomorrow. Still, doesn't mean shady stuff didn't happen.

Game 1 is the best example of the Bruins being helped by the refs. Chara's slash, too-many-men-on-the-ice, Krug's headshot to Thomas. Yes, Krug hit Thomas in the chin/neck area. You can argue whether it was boarding, but it was clear that he hit him in the head, but the league does nothing?

It was bad officiating all around. I'm not saying that. But you are acting like the league deliberately put their thumb on the scale in favor of STL. There was missed/non-calls on both sides. STL is being perceived as benefitting more because they are the more physical team. NONE of you Bruins fans were complaining when Marchand took rabbit shots to Sedin's head in 2011, which was not called by the refs. Your team has benefitted so much from officiating over the years that you're not seeing what every NHL fan knows about the Bruins.

The league didnt claim to take fighting or headshots out of things only to about face to keep an outmatched team competitive in their champuonship.

At least your wise enough in saying game 7 MAY not have occurred instead of the straight this series doesn’t go past 5 argument your buddy is going with.

With the sharks series, maybe your right maybe your not, but I’m not going to apologize for beating an injury riddled team.

Then why wasn't Krug suspended? He hit Thomas in the head, yet it was praised as one of the greatest hits ever.

And to say the Blues were outmatched is the issue I have with Bruins fans. It's not just you, it's also the Bruins fans at the HF Boards who all claim the Bruins were better than they really were. I saw predictions of a 4-0 or 5-1 series even before it started. According to them, St Louis fans were a bunch of hicks who knew nothing about hockey, and yet 2 weeks later the Bruins got their rears handed to them. This Bruins team was good, not great.

Whining is not a good look.
On the bright side, ratings were a 25 year high for Game 7 (which was the Rangers Cup). Hockey making inroads??

The rest of the country was hoping to see the nhl out do themselves from game 5, instead the bs folded.

I was not a huge fan of your posting, but that said - the Blues fully deserved to win. The Bruins were not good offensively in 4 games this series, and lost all four. The Blues shut down their top 2 lines. Bruins fans complaining about someone being too tough is a bit much. Haven’t heard that since the 70’s Flyers.

Cause krug was the one spun around by an elbow to his jaw. No penalty, no suspension. The hit on johansson that drew a suspension that game looked clean in comparison.

One goal was enough to win game 5 if it was called the way the rules are written.

I don't really care about the argument. The series is over and the Blues won, BUT this has been argued and it was pretty obvious that Krug's hit was LEGIT. It was an open ice legal hit once Thomas touched the puck. Krug's feet didn't leave the ice until after the hit. His head being hit wasn't even an issue so I don't even know what that argument is about. Did you even see the replay?

Did you not see your Swamptowns' first goal?
Judging by your lack of response, I take it that you did and - if you were honest with yourself - know that it should Never, Ever have counted.

Agree, good hard clean hit. Felt a little bad for Thomas as he took the anger that was directed at Perron.

It’s hockey - sh*t happens. Great teams overcome it. The Bruins had a chance last night and did not.

Which goal we talking here, the O’Reilly deflection?

Well said.

Yes I did, and I saw a still frame of Thomas’ head being hit by Krug’s shoulder. If I find it, I’ll post it.

Now we are judging hockey hits in slo-mo and still photos. Worst thing ever invented.

The Blues were due.

Congrats to them and the little girl who is sick. Might be the highest point in her life.
