I DID kidnap the Lindbergh baby.

Wonder why the Patriots are blocking him, they don’t typically block promotions. Did the Texans not follow proper procedures, how would this situation happen?

If what’s being reported is correct, would you say what Houston did as following proper procedures?

Just caught up on it, now I see what happened. I had thought Houston formerly tried to interview him.

If Easterby is shown to have been involved in this matter, then what a spineless little back-stabbing hypocrite he turned out to be.
I've seen speculation that Easterby, not being a real football guy, might not have known the rules on tampering.

Easterby waited until being told to open his ring box?

Lighten up, Francis. I had no idea that would hit such a button for you. I was just injecting some humor.

I know you detailed your entire life the other day as being a "contrarian". I didn't know you meant "humorless/neurotic" also.

Calm down. It's all good. Enjoy the show......and, if you pay attention, you'll notice some of it is quite ironic/funny.

Love the Stripes reference

Are the rules for executives the same as the rules for coaches in terms of teams not being able to stop promotions?

I kind of assumed so but I'm sure someone has covered it. From the outside looking in they've definitely tried to do a little bit of a Schrodinger's GM thing with Caserio, but that wouldn't necessarily explain the tampering.

If Easterby really did chat with Caserio how would the team know? Tampering charges against a team we have a lot of connections with seems like a big step to take based on an assumption so it's hard for me to imagine the Patriots did this on a lark or as a way to instigate an investigation.

Ultimately I think Caserio's done enough for this team that if he wants to make a move that would be a promotion for him I'm not going to begrudge it, but these tampering charges will hopefully lead to some delicious drama to help pass the time until August.

***Curran hits it on the head here: Who the hell is Easterby to get football and player development position????? The guy is a chaplain. There must've been some planning going back further than we thought in Houston to get someone in position to nab Caserio.

For all we know, this guy may have ministered/counseled Caserio for years herein New England, gaining a position of trust with Nick and his family, which is why Houston nabbed him when we all thought it was so mysterious how a chaplain all of a sudden gets a player personnel exec job with the Texans......

I think his first job in the NFL was in the personnel department of the Jags, so he does have more than just a Chaplin football background.

The NFL should probably define positions and promotions because I think you can pretty much invent positions and job titles lol.

Which is why Houston hiring him in that job in the first place is something that makes on go "hmmmmmmm".

Because they likely don't view it as a promotion but a lateral move.

If they had that power over an NFL team's FO then would we have ever had Ernie Adams?

I really wish I knew what the rules are on executive poaching but I only have enough motivation to argue with boomers in this thread not open up a new tab and type in www.google.com.

Trade Caserio for Nuk and be done with it.

We just need Kraft to have a press conference now where he lists out 3 players that the Texans should give us in exchange for Caserio and then it'll be like we're back in the 90s!
