2019 OTAs/Minicamp Thread

Just goes to show how "relevant" OTAs really are. You setup the very fundamentals, bring rookies up to speed and check on your recovering injured so you can hit the ground running during camp at the end of July. Then you can even add pads (!!!!).

I get that we are all stuck for a little less than 2 months in a blackhole without real football news so every little bit from the OTAs was interesting. Only a few weeks more and we are back in it..

Don't understand it. It's not like these OTAs are for old vets like Brady, Edelman, Hightower etc; they can stay away completely from the next one for all I care. But shouldn't yutes like Stidham, Harry, Bentley etc be given as much time on the field - and in the classroom - as possible, especially when considering the restrictions already placed on them under the CBA?

Belichick was likely pleased with what he saw last week...

He’s not a homer and is very honest in his opinion of the team, but his honesty does not amount to trolling like Shaunnessy or Volin.
Every time you mention their names, you promote them. Yes, they just trolled you by getting you to promote them. Congratulations!

As a reliable left guard his contact might be somewhere between $9-$10M per year?? But as you point out, Trent Brown had a solid but far from stellar year at LT and walked away with $66M over 4 years. If Thuney can play solidly at LT early in the season I agree his price will probably be going up beyond the Patriots price range (especially with what we all hope is a future LT in house once he completely heals in Wynn).

Nate Solder got a 4/$62m contract the year before too.

So if Thuney can have a good year at LT he could be looking at a 4/$70m contract. Obviously not with the Pats :D

Didn't seem to hurt them last year, when they did the same exact thing.

have OTAs ever been cancelled before???

i don't understand???

unless BB thinks he has a clear picture of the 53 man roster already so early???

i know better than to question that guy, but would love to know thinking behind this decision

edit: nvm, answered right above me

he could beat out Ja’Whaun Bentley for a starting role next to Van Noy and Dont’a Hightower. That’s an intimidating trio.

Versatility. All four guys can put their hand in the dirt or stand up, can rush or fall back. They can play late downs as DL and based on matchups "starters" won't be as important as rested throughout a game as they are pretty interchangeable. This is the first year in a while where the LB core at this time of year seems this deep.

Anyone know how this vital off season activity is going today? Do we have any reports about who's doing well, or poorly? Since this is the last day of OTAs, I'd like to get every bit of info possible.

I heard that Brady was 12-17 on paintball hits, spreading it around among 5 receivers. Hoyer was 5-12 and may be in trouble.

Were these actually serious questions?

I'd hoped that the Etling gun would shine in this crucial event.

KVN said on stream that Bill shot him in the face. NFL investigation incoming.
