On the one hand, much mockery is deserved about this, particularly mockery aimed at certain Patsfans.com posters. On the other hand, without knowing what those personal issues are, mockery is in bad taste. So, given this conundrum, I think the only appropriate response is as follows

(conditional)
350

(conditional) I hope he gets things straightened out and is able to return to football, if that's what he wants.

Jamie Collins to TE. I called it first. :D:D:D

These conditional posts might be the new wave.

I don't see the lack of depth. After week 4, we'll have Watson, LeCosse, plus Develin. In addition, we will have depth in Anderson, Izzo and Beck.

I'm fine with adding another TE. However, I suspect that Belichikc is fine with Watson and LeCosse (plus possibly giving Izzo or Anderson a shot in the first 4 weeks)

That TE depth though....

Bill won't keep extra TEs just to fill out the depth chart. If only two TEs deserve a spot, then that's all he will keep.
Furthermore he keeps the 53 that bring the most short AND long term value to the team.

He was due.

throw Gronk in the lazarus pit

So 1 playoff win is the going rate for making the Cards HOF? Quite the bar they’ve set.

Kind of an insult to Neil Lomax who spent his whole career there who needed to face absolutely brutal pass rushes in the NFC East every Sunday.

My lack of depth comment may have been off. I don't see a whole lot at the position even with Watson; whose best year was 5 five years ago...

Its just more the "shock" to the system when a generational/all-time talent hangs em up and you're left looking at the cupboard post facto; however maybe BB is de-emphasizing the position in one of his master class moments of "zigging when everyone else zags".

Thought I read he had a problem with alcoholism?

Hope his release is due to something else.

Personal life[edit]
On March 9, 2013, Seferian-Jenkins was cited for driving under the influence in the University District of Seattle.[33] In July 2013, he pleaded guilty to DUI and served a day in jail.[34][35] The football team suspended Seferian-Jenkins for 1 game, the Huskies' 2013 season opener against Boise State.

In addition, Seferian-Jenkins cited for DUI on the morning of Friday, September 23, 2016. He was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the same day of the incident.

In May 2017, Seferian-Jenkins opened up regarding his struggles with alcohol, and indicated that he had sought help by attending rehab on an outpatient basis.[36]

This is too bad. I actually had high hopes that by signing here, ASJ would out perform expectations and reach his athletic potential. But the fact is that football is not a fun game if you don't love it at ANY level. At the NFL level, even more so. If his mind is not right, I'm glad we found out at this point rather than in the middle of the season. And if this is about him slipping and falling back into previous bad habits, here's hoping he gets the help he needs to lead a productive life.

As to our TE situation. I'm not sure how much it affects us. Clearly the TE is not going to be the focal point it has been for the last decade. Who knows how Lacosse and the other 3 unknowns will look when they get their opportunities. Though I'd be very surprised if we don't add a few more bodies at the position before we get into August.

Rudolph's name will come up, of course. But I can't get past the family wanting to stay in Minnesota factor to think that he won't eventually reach some kind of extension there. Other names will be added to the list, though I can't think of any that would excite me.

And of course I won't be surprised if they simply stand pat ,and say FU to the pundits and still wind up with a top 5 offense. Remember they went a LONG way back in 2006 with WR's no one ever heard of. This could be a similar year, but only at the TE position. We shall see.

DT TE is fixed!

No, you are right. There is no depth at TE. Call me crazy but I'd like a depth of at least one semi-proven TE week 1.
