OT: Hawt Takes Thread - Only the dumbest, most knee-jerk takes across sports

There are 2 sports media jackwagons that should dominate this thread.
Here is 1 ... the other is battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma so I'll leave him be and wish him well.

My ears hurt just looking at a picture of him...

That dweeb is the luckiest person on the planet to be making the money he does in the job he has. In a normal world he'd be a parking attendant somewhere.

I wish the Facebook thread/comments from 2010 still existed. About 80% of Pats fans had a hissy fit that the Patriots traded up for Gronkowski and passed on Kindle. Pretty much everyone had the same comment about Gronk, which is that he had limited upside but could be a solid contributor/starter. Sht you not.

"Think of it this way, he [Sergio Kindle] is a player with star potential that, at worst, will be a solid pro."

2 seasons, 3 games played, zero starts, 1 career tackle.

Hilarious.

Funnier still is that the Ravens traded with Denver, Denver picked Tebow, then the Ravens picked Kindle. Even el-busto Tebow was less of a bust!

One of my all time favorites. During SB 51.

Edit: To Dilfer's credit, he's readily spoken about just how wrong he was with this take.

What was the context, again? Is this when Kellerman gave his “cliff” take earlier in the year and then somehow felt vindicated when Brady threw the pick-6 during the game?

If so, what a joke. I bet he felt ridiculous a couple of hours later.

It was during half time of SB 51. The responses were hilarious.

trade Bergeron while he still has value

All the Hawt Takes about an NBA team being better off without a top-5 player was something else.

Now they’re all back to sanity.

Being here in the Bay Area, I’ve seen the with/without Durant aspects, here is the the big difference.

The Warriors can appear to be a better team without Durant because they up the tempo, with fast breaks galore and wide spacing. It’s a beautiful thing when it works. This is like an NFL spread offense and what happens a lot when it goes against a superior defense and lacks the power running/play action to adapt. Beautiful when working; very ugly when shut down.

With Durant, they are able to lead the league’s best slower tempo, half court offense as well. You could almost think of him like a Gronkowski type of player. They can play at any speed, up tempo full-court, slowed down half court...plus the iso/spacing he creates.

Last night illustrated exactly what the team is missing without him. The Raptors trapped well and forced a slow tempo game with little fast break, especially from Draymond.

Warriors are also missing his defense, and most importantly, this team’s depth is not close to what it used to be. That said I still like them to win this, though I’m expecting an 0-2 hole.

"On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson or the second best tackle in the draft in Kenyatta Walker, they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sack last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

We didn't even get the best Kenyatta in his draft class. :(

Sorry, too soon? RIP Kenyatta Jones.

There are 2 completely wrong takes that I'm totally forgiving of: Dilfer's is one and John Madden in the first Rams Super Bowl is the other. Madden kept saying to play for overtime but by the end of the drive he freely admitted he was wrong and talked about what Brady was doing was giving him "goosebumps." Dilfer has apologized hundreds of times for getting it so wrong. It's the morons who double down on their stupidity that I can't stand
