I just have to start this off with a quote from our old beloved coach, Doc Rivers. Unfortunately he leads off the Hawt Takes Thread with probably the most over-the-top, tunnel-vision, I-have-no-concept-of-historical-reality take of the day so far.

Clippers HC Doc Rivers Says Kawhi Leonard 'Most Like Jordan We've Ever Seen'

It turns out this is some intention here, as the Clips are trying to land Kawhi, but still. REALLY, DOC???

Hoping this thread can be used to celebrate the knee-jerk stupidity of sports pundits and personality, with their 24-hours news desperation statements. Patriots and NFL stuff is most preferable, though horrible takes are all around us.

This one aged well. You don’t have to click on the link to ESPN to get the scoop. Kellerman (dumber) argues with SAS (dumb) that Giannis is about to dominate the east playoffs like LeBron. LeBron won eight straight. This was from over a week ago when the Bucks led the Raptors.

Buy or sell: Giannis is about to dominate the East like LeBron did

Poor build. Very skinny and narrow. Ended the '99 season weighing 195 pounds and still looks like a rail at 211. Looks a little frail and lacks great physical stature and strength. Can get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own.

The “RIP Doris Day” thread brought more to the PatsFans.com table than this swill.
Just sayin.........

An awful hotsportztake was the Michael Silver/Tom Curran "growing disconnect" narrative of sevwral years ago between Brady, Belichick, and Kraft, but iirc it was mostly a "disconnect" between Brady and Kraft. Silver wrote about it on Yahoo and Curran carried his water...it was a complete joke

He’s just trying to recruit him.

I like Leonard, but he has a couple good playoff series and he’s Jordan?

Doc did have one of his best years coaching this year with a bunch of average to decent players.

Felgar said the 2 tight end offense will fail miserably when Gronk and Hernandez started playing together

Felgar also mocked Pats fans for being excited about Edelman and called him another preseason star like Bam Childress.

How about Richard Seymour being a bad pick when everyone wanted David Terrell? Yeah, I’m guilty as well.

Also, Logan Mankins? The media was like “Huh”. My friends laughed at me when they made that pick.

I believe the Plagiarizer even put that hawt take down on published paper.

Doubled down with his Matt Light take too.

Yep, but that was only a quarter of the wrongness. :p

On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson or the second-best tackle in the draft in Kenyatta Walker, they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 1/2 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.

It kinda did but for different reasons.

Is that not tampering?

He wasn't alone. Plenty here were in that rowboat...

Little did we know he was the first building block for the 3-4 D. A bunch of teams tried copying the Pats during their success with him, Warren and Wilfork.
