2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

I don't mean to split hairs and I could well be wrong- but it seems like he's in the act of leaving his feet. I'm just debating the technical aspect of the hit- not the moral aspect (it was absolutely justified). IMO, since it's impossible to skate on the tips of your blade, he could be considered to have left his feet once the blades are no longer flat on the ice.
There is no could about it

Why would you think I care about your opinion, when you clown yourself time and again? Your post here is yet another prime example.

That's the point of what I was saying, slick. Even playing poorly, the Bruins managed to take the lead (3-2) and ended up winning.

And, before you respond, take a moment to read:

And here's article after article pointing out the slow start.

"Slow" and "turnaround" are in reference to them being down 2-0 early in the game, sparky. Even when they were down and didn't have their legs going like they normally do, they dictated the pace of the game and clearly had the better opportunities. The Bruins skated circles around them the entire game. They were the better team all night, so your bs comments about being fortunate to be up, bringing their "D" game, and overall playing "bad hockey" are absolute garbage takes. Through the 2nd period, the B's had something like 21 scoring chances to the Blues 3. I'll take that "bad hockey team" any day of the week.

You've been slapped by a handful of posters on this thread dating back to the first round. You consistently make moronic contrarian takes (look no further than you saying the Bruins losing in OT against CBJ was "embarrassing" and claiming CBJ dominated the Bruins physically in game 5 despite the B's winning virtually ever puck battle on the boards and having more hits) and then lash out with dumb responses like you did above ("Clowning" myself = me pointing to stats and observations that directly conflict with your hot takes) lmao

BTW there was an old NHL rule many people either don't know about or have forgotten about where NHL teams had exclusive rights to all rookies entering the league who lived within 50 miles of their home city. So Montreal (10 of 24) and Toronto (9 of 10) had unfair advantages since nearly all the prospects back then lived in Canada and how easy was it to get a guy to move a little closer? Really it was still impacting the league through the 1970's where Montreal was still stocked with players from when the rule existed.

Look at it now and the Leafs haven't won since 67 and Montreal since the 70's has 2 cups in 39 years.

For for all that Canadian arrogance.....

Do we really need to concoct a means to bash the historical significance of the Steelers? I hate them too, but they have earned their place as a top flight NFL franchise, no?

The Steelers are one of the 2,3 most storied franchises in all of football. This thread is a waste.

IMO, he launched into Thomas. He did leave his feet a fraction before he made contact.
He didn't. And it wasn't charging. Krug separated player from puck with a legal hit. It was a badass hockey play and if there was any issue with the hit, the Blues would have erupted. They didn't.

My only question is, do you prefer Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch or something different during the game?

I'm superstitious.

Well this could be a quick series. Clearly overmatched. Could’ve been 8-2 if not for binnington.
i tend to agree but im not sure the Blues are going away that easy even though we are clearly the better team

And the hair... Jesus the hair... 90% have Stallion locks...bastards

I haven't been "slapped" by anyone, and you continuing to clown yourself doesn't change that. Cassidy even had to pull the Bergeron line off of the Blues top line, because they were getting drubbed. But you keep being you. I'll just ignore you from now on, since you clearly have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Wish there was a hockey match tonight.

Another long layoff after tomorrows contest. Hope the Bears dont get rusty.

Thoughts on game ones.

1) One of Rask best games this run. He gave up 2 goals but they were both really good shots that happened due to a very lucky bounce and a bad defensive play. There was no way to defend them. No goalie could have done better.

2) The Bruins executed very well and were clearly the better team tonight. They had more scoring chances than the Blues by a large margin, and more importantly they tended to be earned while the Blues didn't really earn mayn of their own.

3) People worried the Blues would out physical the Bruins can take solace in game 1. They didn't happen. If you went in knowing nothing about the teams it would be hard to guess who the more physical one was suppose to be.

Comparing the blues to Manning, I think your giving the blues too much credit. I mean Peyton actually made it to and won a few titles...
If by "a few" you mean two titles, neither of which he deserved in any way, shape or form to have, and which he was arguably the Worst player on his team Both times...then yeah Payaton won a few titles.

Every dog has his day.

You can be sure of only change.

Everything old is new again. The Blues will always break your heart

Yet we all participated in it!

Nice refuting of all the facts that state otherwise. And you didn’t even need to cite anything? Awesome contribution.

I have been following the chat as I watch the games. You guys chatting have been much more positive than the Patriots game day threads. Have to say Playoff Hockey kicks ass. Go B’s. Triple Crown

I thought that the B's looked great last night, keep in mind they hit what three post? The two giveaways were awful, but outside of that, they clearly looked like the better hockey team...

...Last night they dominated play and could have won by an even bigger margin.
Yep...they really should've scored 3 goals in the first period alone. Love to see them bury more of those chances and play with a bit larger cushion.

And Marchand with the other team's net empty is Money.
