Well the Chiefs can win everything

Good. Now go back to sudden death.

What's the pun?

The fact that it didn't even have enough support to activate a vote has given me some small hope for the decision makers in this league.

It will be revisited next Off-season you can bet on it.

Given that it was only visited this year as a reaction to what happened with the Chiefs (and still had no where near enough support), I wouldn't be so sure. Remember, before the AFFCG, you had an NFC version that went the opposite way, where the Rams were able to win with just a field goal because they were able to make a stop on defense. What are they odds we get another "controversial" situation exactly like that, and why would it suddenly make people support it more the second time?

Itll rehash next time the pats win an ot coin toss and win on the first possession.

Owner meetings also mean Josh Gordon news coming soon.

You preferred the system where they get the big play and then don’t even go for the touchdown in OT? Naaah, current rules are pretty good. Losing on a first drive touchdown is far more tolerable than a field goal.

No way. You think a couple of lucky chunk plays followed by a long field goal constitutes a win?

Go all the way down the field and score a TD. Then a win is deserved in my opinion.

Defense’s job to stop those plays just like it was the defense’s job to stop those plays in the prior 60 minutes (clock time) of football.

Mahomes can park his arse next to Luck as a Pats biotch.......if the Chiefs wanted to beat the Pats, they should have held onto Alex Smith

I love the new rule the way it is if you can't stop a Team from scoring a TD too bad for your D.

Meh, only one team has to play defense though. The touchdown to win is a fair compromise and has created more exciting games.

I am genuinely surprised by this outcome, thought for sure we would see this go through. Amazing, people actually realized that there 3 phases to football, not just 1 aka the Pat Mahomes Variety Hour.

All that’s required is holding the opponent to a field goal, or forcing a punt, or forcing a turnover, or making a fourth-down stop. Any one of those avenues will lead to the poor team that didn’t “have a chance” to get the football.

In other words, a football team has to play football moderately well in order to win a football game. What a novel concept.

I like the current system better personally, but I would absolutely go back to sudden death 100 times out of a 100 rather than keeping inching the games longer and longer. Where does it stop? "No fair! The Pats scored a touchdown, then we scored a touchdown, then they won with a field goal! Shouldn't we get a chance to match?!?!"

They are tweaking the PI rule....so hold your breath...
