TE Kyle Rudolph trade idea

I think Watson is probably the safest.
LaCosse is probably next safest.
ASJ I could see anywhere from cut to TE1.
The rest are fighting the above for a spot.
Rudolph would certainly crowd things and likely would cost someone a spot unless they went with 4.

Calling a 39 year old out of retirement the safest tells you how far our TE position have fallen after Gronk. Seriously I want Kyle Rudolph now!

Looks like I might be wrong, relevant excerpt from link given below:

Some have said Brady cannot be extended because of his incentives being added last summer, but our understanding is because Brady did not receive more cash after failing to reach them, his deal can be re-done within the calendar year.

It’s odd Tom Brady hasn’t received contract extension from Patriots

That’s a good opinion. It’s shared by Miguel among other experts. But, many of us were once of the opinion that Deflategate amounted to nothing as well. That footballs naturally lose air in the cold and rain. The NFL front office and Commissioner Goodell just didn’t see it that way.

Guess who has to approve Brady’s extension when it’s submitted? It’s not you or me, Miguel or Ryan Hannable. It’s the NFL front office and the Commissioner. Thus, the Patriots, as reported by Greg Bedard on a couple of occasions, don’t believe the NFL honchos would approve the contract until a year had passed from the last redo which included the unearned incentives.

I think that’s a reasonable opinion especially given that there’s no hurry to get it done. If the Patriots wanted to sign Gerald McCoy, they have the cap space already to do it. Heck, they could pay him $11 million this year on a 4 year deal and the 2019 cap hit would be $3.5 million.

I hit the nail on the head with that one ...
Not that there's anything wrong with using teams as leverage - it's the game that's played.
