As far as I can remember they never ran much of a 3-4 this decade. Avril and Bennett are the 2 guys I think of as their defensive ends, and Avril certainly would not play that position on a 3 man front.
Seattle had a bit of a confusing defense because it combines elements of what many think of as a traditional 34 or 43. Technically, they ran a 43 Under, with a LEO who could stand up or put his hand in the dirt. Like the 34, this defense can be run as a one- or two-gap defense, although it's still primarily about gap control. Due to the alignment of players and the responsibility of the LEO, it can end up looking not dissimilar to a 34 depending on the play call.
So, you're not wrong, but it's more nuanced than just how many down lineman they have.
