Seattle had a bit of a confusing defense because it combines elements of what many think of as a traditional 34 or 43. Technically, they ran a 43 Under, with a LEO who could stand up or put his hand in the dirt. Like the 34, this defense can be run as a one- or two-gap defense, although it's still primarily about gap control. Due to the alignment of players and the responsibility of the LEO, it can end up looking not dissimilar to a 34 depending on the play call.

So, you're not wrong, but it's more nuanced than just how many down lineman they have.

Jake Eldrenkamp was released

McCoy is on the market boooys

This could be the most predicted move to turn out correct in the history of this board.
Now let’s hope he plays better than last year. If he does it’s an important addition, giving us 2 behemoths to go with guy and the undersized DT role players.

Other than whatever the TE position is going to become I think we have filled every role across the roster.

They started plenty of games with Bryant McDaniel mebane wright smith Wagner and Irvin as their front 7....

Point being that between the dl and lbs appears to have more of a 3-4 look than past years

McCoy is on the market literally an hour after the signing. While they don't play the same role, Shelton is a JAG. Super unlucky timing.
