Jets Suck -- 2019 Edition (Official): Entering A New Half-Century of Moronic Mediocrity!

Calling them mediocre is such an insult to mediocre teams. In the last 50 years they have three division titles. Three. That isn’t mediocrity. That’s bottom of the barrel.

They're still trailing the Houston Oilers in AFCE division titles, right?

This was tweeted during the draft:

The head coach and GM don't have to appear on camera together all the time, but this was around the same time that rumors about Maccagnan's future started. I posted about it at the time, but letting a GM build your team through free agency and the draft and then firing him makes no sense.

Further, if people are questioning Maccagnan's decision to sign Bell, shouldn't that put a question mark on his other personnel decisions? He drafted Darron Lee in the first round in 2016 and Lee was just shipped out for a 6th round pick. How can anyone look at those moves and then say "Darnold is a franchise QB. He's going to take off in his second year and be great"? It's almost like the Jets want to fail.

Gase traded away 2016 1st round pick LB Darron Lee to the Chiefs for a 6th round pick.

Most Jets fans hated Lee, so maybe they'll like Gase's housecleaning ways?

Heading to the Jets? I sure hope he has more sense than that.

Uh-oh, Gregg Williams is not going to like this.

It would be so thoroughly Jete for Johnson & (his other brother) Johnson to just write yet another check and thank Williams for stopping by. After surviving the initial friction from bringing him in it would be such a Jete worthy mistake to jettison the only thing close to a championship caliber coach on that staff. Williams should have gotten the HC job in Cleveland if not NY

Williams and Googly Gaze are on a collision course so getting rid of one of them might be helpful. But the Jete need a GM. I just hope it's not Pioli, although he hasn't exactly worked wonders anywhere since leaving New England.

Given the timing I get it but it's hard to envision Pioli resigning an 'assistant GM' position under a trusted friend like Dimitroff the way he did to join up with the Jete. Sets up too weird a dynamic to do it that way vs the Jete just asking permission to speak with him. Not weird on the Jete part since tampering and colluding are a way of life for Gang Green but not the way you envision a by the book guy like Pioli conducting himself.

Wow, Macca had the job for four years yet no one in Florham Park noticed his indecisiveness?

Seems all the knives are out.

Lombardi did a long riff about him yesterday on his podcast. Said Woody just hired whomever Casserly told him to hire and Macca happened to be a scout Casserly liked so he got the job, but was never GM material. Said Himerdinger was also in over his head but didn't seem to care, and was the real mover and shaker behind the scenes, and Macca was just the front man.

Keep in mind Lombardi's son was a coach for da Jete last season so the info is definitely how Macca was viewed inside the building.

The following tweet covers the end result, some really poor team building:

At best Macca can draft OK if he has a top 4 pick and can sign decent FAs if he has no cap constraints.

Yet in true Jete fashion, they will be paying him for the next two years, so da joke is on da Jete and da Jete dumbass fans.

Even worse, da dumbass Jete will be paying Le'Veon Bell even more for the next two years.

Trading 1st rounder Darron Lee for a 6th is basically the same as cutting him, so we have one more red block on the spreadsheet.

Seems JeteFan6969 has gone quiet, maybe he has had more than enough kicks to the balls right about now?

The last four years have been ****e, the owners moves pretty much guarantee the next two seasons will be ****e, and by then Crazy Eyes Gaze and Red Bull Williams will be kicked to the curb, and the Jete Cycle of Misery will roll over yet again, same as it has since 1969.

why is this thread removed and NA? whoever is respo0nsible, fix it. Period. There's a very sound reason why this thread should never be left to the whimsy of a mod.

He hates it 49 percent but loves it 51 percent, which is why he keeps coming back for more humiliating abuse.

Meanwhile, in the land of da Jete:

How hard could it be to convince an NFL executive that da Jete are a ****e show?

Not very hard, says I...

Are things so bad for da Jete that they won't even be able to claim a win of the Offseason Championship?

Gang Green: Manish Mehta is a disgrace says:
I know there's already a thread for the beat writers, but this feels deserving of its own post. I'm not as big a hater as some are, nor am I an advocate of personal shots, but this dude is having a legit breakdown at this Macagnan news. I think It's really saying something when a member of the media is freaking out more than any singular member of this fanbase. I appreciate critical coverage of the team, but holy ****.
And:
Mac was Manish's inside source, Manish did Mac's hit job on Bowles so Mac could keep his job. It was a symbiotic relationship of men bad at their jobs helping each other so they could both look like they were better than they were.
And:
I think Heimerdinger was the source. Regardless, Manish is the most pathetic excuse for an unethical sports journalist that I've ever seen. How he's still allowed in the Jets facility I have no idea.

This thread should be a sticky, not to mention required reading.
