Interesting that there has been no news about the contract details yet. Usually we'd have heard something about them by now.
takes a few days usually

BB is better than anyone on economics. But I see your "anyone" and I raise you Adalius Thomas.

He didn’t overpay Thomas in terms of the market at that time, Thomas was considered the top defensive free agent in that class, and the deal was reasonable in that context. He did overpay Thomas in terms of his performance in NE, but he couldn’t have known he would bust.

Inmans just came out today. Takes a day or so to leak out

Oh ffs....

Come on. This is just silly.

I think that game was more of a blame pie thing, but his logic is as sound as yours. It's really a matter of how you mean "cost the game".

I'm so excited for this

The secondary corners plus safeties are elite

Now the linebacker group is really deep

Belichick the DC?

Get ready for 2003 Patriots, baby

.

2004 imo

Are players not always paid according to expected performance? The concept of "overpaying" arises when actual performance fails to match expectations.

They should have never been in Denver in the first place.

I was hoping to see Herron - longshot though he might've been - compete for one of the 2(/3?) backup DT spots behind Guy & Pennel. Too bad...and yet again, for reasons only known to Bill, Cedrick Lang & Nick Thurman are still in the building.

I'll see that Afailus Thomas and raise you Devin McCourty.
Christ you have got to be kidding me.

I get 99% of your personnel takes and even agree with a few but you are way off on this one

Spending on Devin was warranted, worth it and a smart transaction.

People need to look at DMc in the same lens as Mayo. Never had the Patrick Willis # but clearly did his job and the other two players he made easier.

I just can't believe that people still come out with their stupid "player x" cost us the Denver game takes. It wasn't Stork, it wasn't Ghost, it wasn't Collins, it wasn't Brady and it also was not Cannon. Everyone's mistakes as a cumulative sum broke the back of this team.. including coaching mistakes.

But here we are 2 SB titles, 3 appearances and 4 years later and people still come out pointing fingers at individual people.

Leaks faster when the agents have something impressive to send around to beat writers. If we have it to wait for it to be filed in the NFLPA DB then it usually is a sign of a deal in favor of the team.

The coach here is Hue Jackson, aka the worst coach of the decade. How do we know that Jackson didn’t say that Collins’ responsibility is to play it horizontal?

Not sure it makes a lot of difference but it really was the Gregg Williams defense.

...and Jamie's agent is a doochbag. Bus Cook. No way he wants to advertise his client accepting football wellfare.

In that case, Collins clearly blew his assignment by not diving for the running back’s knees.......

I don’t get the opposition to this move. They had an opportunity to improve the team and took it. Low risk, good potential reward.

Not sure there is a lot of opposition, but if there is, I agree. Free-agent pick up so costs the Pats nothing, and after the comp pick window. If he helps great, if he doesn’t they’ll get rid of him. Great move.

I think BB has proven hes not that kind of GM.

The D played like **** that game and he saw how it was going.

He’s proven that every situation is different and your claim has no basis
