I see your Super Bowl Wheel Route and raise you Owen Daniels...twice.
Did he cost us that game? Ugh. Manning couldn't move the ball at all that day. 2 short fields were all it took and JC letting an old slow tight end beat him 2x. That game is why he was cut. I like the move for depth nevertheless.

That was maddening to see.
I remember being like how how does that happen.

Yea that pretty much sums it up. If it doesn't work out its short money and he'll be gone.

If it does work out he'll fit like and old pair of running sneakers you can still run with without dropping $125 on a new pair
I get why some on here are down on him, he obviously gives credence to the quote, "million dollar body, $.10 cent head", but for the price and his past history under this coaching staff maybe the guy has actually learned something. If he doesn't pan out, then he gets cut...I don't think Bill really gives a rat's *** what a bunch of keyboard quarterbacks on PatsFans think of it.

Correct. If it works, great. If it doesn't, move on...

Collins is not a lock to make the roster. He is going to have to show a lot to make this team.

The flip side is if Collins makes the team, it almost assuredly means Sam is practice squad or another year on ir.

Ps: we should bring back Easley and keep the reunions rolling. Bolden, Watson, collins, maybe Easley.

He was a decent linebacker. He was NOT worth a top 10 pick. He's been made into this mythical Mike Singletary by some in the fanbase.

Really? Only 11 players in that 2008 draft have gone All-Pro. Mayo was one (Slater was another). So, I think top 10 is pretty accurate.

Well, ok, I'll be fair, 12 players had more Pro Bowl appearances than Mayo (again, Slater was one). So, ok, maybe he's only top 11.

He was worth a top pick in that draft, and he was the #1 LB in his class. Whether his exact hindsight slot would be in the top 5, top 10, or top 15 isn't really important, because a lot of that argument would focus on his injuries.

Sounds like he’s desperate for a contact...

That's a good thing. He needs to play well to get that contract. It's great for the Pats this year.

Most of the highlights from his stint on the Browns that were circulated around here were more like “lowlights”. One in particular where a pulling QB blocked him entirely out of a play.

Fans keep underestimating Owen Daniels while BB (according to Lombardis book) could not stop talking about him being the key in the week(s) leading up when facing him in the playoffs.

Did not think there were chances in hell that the Pats could sign Ben Watson and Jamie Collins, but they somehow brought these guys back into the fold..

Will see if Jamie will fulfill his role as planned or freelance.. but after his banishment to Cleveland he probably realizes the value of a disciplined organization..

The current depth chart of the NEP is deeper quicker, younger in some aspects and mature in others. INOW they are locked and loaded for the 2019 season.. very enthused with the NEP offseason, better than expected.

"Elite" is ridiculous. "Elite on the Patriots" sure, but that was a pretty low bar.
Just like that Brady guy that set the "Elite on the Patriots" bar real low...

WTF does that mean? He was more effective than any of them
Who are you referring to specifically and I'll tell you if I'd rather have a player who knew his role and responsibilities as opposed to a free lancer who wanted to be Superman

Bill cares deeply about what we say here

Was Jamie Collins really just 3 years ago? Quite a bit of greatness has happened since then and I imagine he (Jamie) has a better sense of how it may be different with the Patriots organization.

Did he have much in the way of choices or were we the only ones interested. Still young enough to have maintained his athleticism, but old enough to understand what it takes to be a professional. And we know Bill hasn't necessarily changed much, so Jamie does realize what he is signing up for.

And as someone on page 1, my first thought was hoping for a Chung type effect (which is pretty much a best case scenario). Interesting to see how he gets used as he can be a very versatile player (Rusher to coverage LB and everything in between).

I agree. The first one was bad enough. But when it happened again on basically the same play.:mad::mad: Goodbye SB50
