2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Not to get ahead of myself - obviously the Bruins are no sure thing to win - but just wondering if any city had ever held 3 major sports titles at the same time. Want to know the stakes.

PS - Don’t bring up SB42 - we are all aware that would have made it 3 for Boston in addition to - yeah, I’ll just stop.

Who do we want in the Sharks vs Blues series. Who do we match up better with?

it doesnt matter. either team will be a handfull. i think the bruins would have home ice either way.

1935 Detroit
MLB had 16 teams, one round playoff series (World Series)
NFL had 9 teams, one round playoff game (NFL Championship)
NHL had 8 teams, three round playoff series

2019 Boston
MLB has 30 teams, three round playoff series
NFL has 32 teams, four round playoff series
NHL has 30 teams, four round playoff series

I’d say without question this would be the greatest combined achievement by a city’s major sports teams.

no doubt about it.

It is so much fun being a Boston sports fan. Here we are at the beginning of baseball season, little over 3 months from a SB victory and watching hockey ECF with happiness. This is an awesome feeling and distraction from our every day routines.

What mundane lives are you referring to?

fact of the day:

Bruins have 14 Americans on their roster
The other 3 remaining teams have a total of 11 Americans combined (CAR 4, SHS 4, STL 3)

and

we have as many Czechs on our roster as Canadians (4 ea)

I was at the game last night. What fun it was. Bruins need to win on Thursday and get some rest.

Carolina fans acting like they have been around forever was fun to watch. :D

I had box seats and got to see Luke Kuechly, Christian McAffre, Greg Olsen and Rasheed Wallace up close. It was cool.

Go Bruins !!!

1969- Jets, Mets and Knicks (I think)
Jets won title in ‘68 (Super Bowl January 1969). Knicks won title in spring of 1970. Did not hold 3 at one time.

Are we really gonna count Detroit? Besides the fact that those leagues held for the most part less than HALF the teams they do now and that an NFL championship is not the same as a superbowl.

If Bruins win this thing, it's the icing on top of the dynasty cake that started in 01 for Boston.

Also, these would be in the same league years. Obviously not the same YEAR.

Connor Hughes - " Let the current state of the #Jets sink in:

They
1) Allowed Maccagnan to pick the head coach
2) Allowed Maccagnan to spend all their money in free agency
3) Allowed Maccagnan to run their draft

Now they’ve … fired Maccagnan

That’s incompetence like I’ve never seen before.:eek::eek:

One more win to the cup....not a given yet. We have seen 0-3 come backs in the NHL.....I seem to recall this happening to us vs. the Philly Flyers in '09ish....
