I am so disgusted I thought start this thread now ...
Erase 2019 and leave it in the trash heap .... on to the draft.
If we package our picks I wonder if we can move up a few spots to get the best available PF/C.
It's what we need, let Baynes go and can Theis -
see what we can do with Timelord and this pick.

this offseason will be fascinating. so many questions to be answered. I just hope Danny Ainge is ok to continue. there is no guarantee he returns because of his health concerns.

Remember how it felt in Red Sox land pre 2004 before their 1st WS championship in 86 years.
I’m feeling that same hapless doom in C’s land
Not good enough with no answers

I’ve got my lounge chair positioned just right and my umbrella ready to protect me from the storm of tears about to burst upon us. Just need more popcorn because this disaster epic could last years.

If I was Ainge, my first order of business would to instruct his coach to grow a beard and take a testosterone booster. The sugar sweet choir boy act has run its course.

Ownership needs to take a long, hard look at Danny's fitness - both physically and mentally - to continue in his role as Chief Grocery-Shopper.

It's been 11 years now, people. How long is too long before real, substantive changes are made to positions that truly matter?

Door for Kyrie to join LeBron on Lakers is 'opening more by the day'

"According to Brian Windhorst, who has extensively covered both of these players, this has recently become more likely than ever (via ESPN):

“As time passes here, I would’ve said that this is impossible for many months. But as time passes here and as the possibility exists that Jason Kidd could be hired as the Lakers coach, I think the possibility of Kyrie and LeBron reuniting — that door, which was deadbolted, has been un-deadbolted and has now been cracked open … It might even be opening more by the day. And I say that just because I think it’s on Kyrie’s radar, it’s on Kyrie’s board. He has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers.”

I don’t want the Irving/Davis show here....they’re both a couple of malcontents and I don’t think they would bring the celts a championship.

Where does that leave the celts? I think there’s a pretty good chance if Irving is gone that Horford will opt out....he’s be great on the warriors

After that, it’s who knows......but I think brown and Tatum can grow much more.....

if horford leaves. that opens up a max contract slot for the celtics to try and sign another high end free agent.

So which is it? The wider-opening door to LA, or the 95% of KD joining him in NY?

Seems Big Al likes it in Boston and is willing to work with the C's if they tack on years.
Horford open to team-friendly deal with C's
My NBA cap knowledge is minimal at best and I only know what I read. What I read says if Kyrie leaves, the Celts still can't afford a max guy like Kemba. Big Al could possibly bail them out.
Getting old (33), needs to be managed
vs
Possesses heart, likes Boston, still can bring it

Edit: Solid chip that actually likes Boston...a chip that could be moved pretty easily at anytime.
Assets assets assets (unless Al requires a no trade clause to extend. Is that allowed in NBA?)

Agree any discount Horford gives should have a no-trade clause

My favorite link: These are the salaries of Boston Celtics players

If I were the GM, my steps for 2019-2020:

a.) Let Kyrie walk.
b.) Let Rozier walk too.
c.) Pray Horford picks up his player option.
d.) Pray Baynes picks up his player option.
e.) Try to resign Morris...offer him more money if Baynes walks to clear up space.
f.) Package Brown and picks 14, 20, and 22....ship to New Orleans for AD.
g.) Sign one more max player with Kyrie's money....Kemba Walker anyone?
h.) Let Theis walk.

2019-2020 roster:

C: A. Davis
PF: A. Horford
F: J. Tatum
SG: G. Hayward
PG: K. Walker

Bench:

M. Smart
M. Morris
A. Baynes
R. Williams
S. Ojeleye

I think that is a 55+ win team....

I'd prefer to keep Jaylen Brown. Kid is poised in the playoffs and plays good defense.

Tatum is becoming too much like Melo. Long 2's, too much iso.

Smart, Brown, Hayward, Horford, AD.

Gone: Tatum, Kyrie

Pelicans would be nuts to take that deal, especially now that they have the first pick. I can easily see Lakers giving them #4 plus a a couple of their young guys. I don't think AD is coming here.

they would have to part with a lot more than that to get zion. they don't have enough.

Kyrie’s abandoned salary slot would not enable the Celtics to sign a max slot player as a replacement.

I'm pretty sure Rozier burned that bridge yesterday.
