Edelman-Dorsett-Harry -3 UDFAs- Berrios and Patterson - Demaryus Thomas - Josh Gordon - Dontrelle Inman

Something's gotta give.

This makes me wonder if BB got some suspension news about Gordon, or a health update on Thomas, or if he's just trying to let it all play out.
Same thing happened last year

Creating as much quality competition at WR as they can. Every time they add another player who could make the roster, the heat goes up in the kitchen for everyone else.

I do note something consistent about all the new guys:

Xavier Ubosi 6-4
Demaryius Thomas 6-3
Damoun Patterson 6-2
Jakobi Meyers 6-2
N'Keal Harry 6-2
Maurice Harris 6-3
Dontrelle Inman 6-3
BB is tired of the midgets^^

I've wanted him here every time he hit the FA market, hope he's still good.

Can play slot and outside, had probably the world's quietest 60 catch season in history a couple years ago. He's fine depth and should compete for a spot if Thomas and Gordon aren't ready to go without compromising a WR5 slot for an undrafted rookie or whatever.

I like Inman over all of the other no names (Harris, Meyers, Ubosi, Patterson). Though I do like Ubosi & Meyers, Inman is proven.

Didn't this guy do something off the field? Someone refresh my memory.

Won't give up on his dream.
Undrafted in 2011. Spent some time in CFL - won a Grey Cup!
Made the Chargers in 2014 and spent parts of four seasons with them.

Cute note - when you look up his Pro Day data on NFL Draft Scout (their new format is miserable) he's listed as the #147 WR in the 2011 draft - but with an up arrow! Making a late break into the top 130.

Jon Baldwin was a first rounder from that draft; last played in 2013. Austin Pettis was a third rounder; last played in 2014. Leonard Hankerson was another third rounder; he played one game with the Patriots in 2015 before being waived and his career ended that year. And so forth. Inman has outlasted a lot of other players.

When we have a glaring roster need, the team frequently throws a lot of bodies at the void to see what sticks. This really is how I expected we would do it (minus the first round WR which surprised me ). It usually works out for us fairly well and sometimes exceptionally well. Other times it falls flat. Our DB success has been somewhat spotty.

We’re doing something similar at TE but on a smaller scale which is telling.

big bodied receivers. Bill must be looking at the competition for 2019 and see an advantage here for us.

Well, if you buy into what this article is selling ...

His Passing Numbers Don't Lie: Tom Brady Really Is Getting Old

As he has gotten older Tom is having a tougher time with the longer throws. While still accurate but not as accurate as he once was, theoretically could benefit from bigger targets with a larger catch radius to throw to.

Surprise cut, 5' 10 1/2 Edelperson!
No?

I don't buy into it.

I mean, Thomas being ready Week 1 would be nothing short of a medical miracle, and Gordon's a total wild card. Harry was a big get but at this point they're throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks, just like they did last summer.

Great depth addition. I’m all for anyone who helps the chances DT isn’t on the roster.

I don't buy into it.
Some of it I do. Most not.

Tom had a fading Gronk and turnstile at WR last year and IMO that was THE main reason for his drop in efficiency in 3rd and > 4yards....and he still had close to the MVP #s of 2018.

Can he still make the throws? Yep. Does he have the same arm as he did 10 years ago? No. I don't think he does.

Even if Gordon comes off suspension it is hard to trust him enough to not keep an extra WR. Thomas will be on PUP.

You really have

X WR
Harry
Inman
Gordon ?

Z WR
Edelman
Dorsett
