Ben Watson signs with NE

Him, ASJ and Lacosse would be fine. All three are good receivers and ASJ is a plus blocker.

I'll be happier with him as the 8th receiver than Ellington.

Maybe Daniel Graham will also un-retire so we can bring all the old timer TE’s back

Hey, I hear that the #87 jersey is available again....

If he comes, I hope he’s not our main TE threat. Really, at this point he just wants a ring and then he’ll retire.
Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but a guy just in it for a ring would not be reportedly also visiting the Bills and 49ers. Improvement or not, I highly doubt either of those teams will be competing for a ring in the coming season.

If he comes to New England, I'd love to have him. Watson was very good back in the day and I think he still has something in the tank

87 needs to be retired
Agree but Kraft is on record as saying they will never do that. They put players in the Pats HoF as opposed to retiring #s.

With that said, its very difficult to imagine someone besides Tom wearing #12 ever again. #87 I can see.....but #12 is a whole different level of consideration.

I’d be ok with adding a move te to go along with Asj. Don’t think the impact of adding him is significant as I see a lot more running and wr sets. However to be able to add him does give them other formations to play with.

I see the opposite. ASJ is a better blocker and more established as a receiver
All I know is nobody is going play gunner coverage and mug ASJ. If N'Keal Harry or someone else steps up and becomes a big time contributor, ASJ will get Kelce coverage and with the free releases will make a few big plays.

Watson still has decent speed, even at age 38. Still can get open. Had 40 catches last year. has good hands. Would be a good locker room guy to have for guys like ASJ & Gordon (if he isn't suspended all year). Has great chemistry with Brady (who trusts him). Would be a great 1 year deal.

Wow, didn’t think there was much to it till now. Id welcome that!!

He won a Super Bowl ring his rookie year in 2004.(though he didn't play much). maybe he can end his career the same way...

"Mr. Watson — Come here — I want to see you."
Does that ring a bell?

He was always a pretty good blocker, not sure what you're talking about.

He was a good blocker in the passing game, not as much so in the running game which was the strength of daniel graham.

Another Rock Hill, SC product along with Gilmore and C. Patterson

He played two quarters of one game and was then IR'd. He's an excellent example of someone having a solid career despite sitting out his rookie year.
