NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

I’m ok with being competitive but not championship level next year. We need to get some bad contracts off the books. We also get more experience for Tatum, Brown, our draft picks, and maybe Williams.

I’ll give Hayward one more year. It typically takes a year and some change to get back. I also don’t think Hayward and Kyrie gel together so I’d like to see Hayward without Kyrie.

don't be surprised if horford opts out........he could get a deal now that he may not get after next year and a year older.......30M for one year or 60-70M for 3?
I think he will.

I was going to say the same thing......he's further along than Giannis was after 2 years
Yea my only quibble were he settled for the outside shot a bit too much this past year but i'm not sure if that was a spacing issue, ****ty setups from Kyrie or he was just impatient.

I'd like to see his D be a bit more consistent but when he wants to play it hes very good.

If he gets the minutes and looks he can easily be a 20/8 player.

He is also further along than Kawhi or Harden.

I wouldn't trade either Brown or Tatum.......if Horford opts out, they can chase a big for Max $$....

I'm throwing this year out the window.........you don't tell the successful to take a step back which is exactly what they had brown, tatum, and rozier do......I'd like them all back....bring mooch back,....even get his bro here......draft athletic bigs (fernando, dombouya) along with a PG like Carsen Edwards

Giving up on him right now would be a very, very bad decision.

I would do it if you guarantee me a proven Superstar on a long term deal. If not I rather take my chances on Tatum become a superstar himself

Agree.

Like Tatum, Brown is another one whos 3PT % went down vs last year. His minutes went down b/c of Gordon.

Give him 35 minutes a night and let him go. His contract is up next year. Gotta really see if hes worth keeping.

Depends on who the superstar is.

Agree . I think Scary can be another Avery. Hes part of the solution - not the problem.

They do need athletic bigs in the worst way. Maybe Williams can be that guy next year but the need more.

I see the issue this way........last year, hayward goes down and the celts had no choice to go with the youth and they responded....then kyrie goes down and most people though "1st round exit" .... except the young guys played well and for the most part, outplayed their playoff counterparts with the exception of LeBron.....then Irving and Hayward return.......and the young guys suddenly have to think about what they're doing rather than letting their instincts get them to the basket. that never works.

I think a starting lineup of
Rozier/Smart
Brown
Tatum
Hayward
Horford (or insert athletic rebounding big here....or someone like Vucevic)

bench:
Smart/Rozier
Mooch (or Aminu or Mirotic...depending on the big that is horford or someone else)
Draft big (Jaxson Hayes / Bruno Fernando / Kabengele)
Draft physical 4 (Sekou Dombouya / Rui Hachimura / Brandon Clarke)
Draft PG (Carsen Edwards)

actually, I think Avery Bradley is a FA....I'd bring him back in a hertbeat

correction...he's 12.9M for Memphis but it's not guaranteed so likely to be dumped in favor of FA signing

I just watch a team like the Rockets, and at times they're out there with the biggest guy is 6'5" and they still give everyone headaches.....

I can't imagine anyone's giving Horford $70 million over 3 years. He'll take the $30m, and he'll be a valuable expiring contract.

Sign him, keep Scary and draft Coby White. I like Edwards but would like to see more size at the position.

I'm not saying 'give up on him', but his regression this year is incredibly alarming, and I don't think Irving has anything to do with it. He had a chance to be a legit #2 this year, and instead, couldn't crack top-5 in minutes in the playoffs.

I blame it on coaching, and lack of work on his handle in the offseason.
he was fine last year.

I don't like the fact he was hanging with Kobe TBH
