2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

No. I’ll just enjoy the rest of the playoffs. I’m a one team kinda guy. Even if that team is basically the jets of the NHL.

I remember Brind ‘Amour playing a few years on the Blues. I just don’t remember know how important he was to your franchise.

I can't believe they suspended him for that hit. I thought MAYBE it required a 4 minute major, but a suspension? They guy wasn't even hurt. He was back on the ice for his next shift. There were other head hits on the Bruins in that game (one against Krug near the net that knocked the net clean off comes to mind) that weren't even called as penalties. What a joke.

Remember that the NHL is a joke from pretty much every angle, even though it hasn't completely ruined the game yet. Keeping that in mind helps when the league's inevitable stupidity raises its head.

Basically, it's the NFL on skates, in that sense.

So it's the Avalanche in San Jose tonight with a trip to the Western Conference Finals on the line. It's hard not to like SJ at home although Colorado did take game 2 there. The Shark Tank provides a heck of a home ice advantage and while most anything can happen in a game 7 I gotta go with the home team tonight. Who you got?

@maust1013, I put you on ignore. Stop trolling me with the “sad emoji.” I don’t want to engage with you period. I’m not nearly as old as you, so I don’t remember too much about Rod Brind’ Amour other than he played for the Blues. Nothing wrong with not knowing something about a franchise that I don’t follow. This is why I asked @Ras-IR Dowling the question.

It is sad is you'd expect a real hockey fan fan to cheer against Boston based on a player that was there for 2 years almost 30 years ago but has become almost synonymous with Canes hockey in the past 2o years. If you don't want to be called out for it try not trolling the thread with that type of nonsense.

Not important at the time since they moved him after 2 years. I’ll chalk that one up to poor management since we also got rid of players like Scott Stevens and adam Oates in that time period.

So I ask you not to engage with me and what do you do? you engage with me . It’s sad you don’t know the difference between cheering for someone and cheering against their opponent. I merely asked the Blues fan of he was going to cheer for an ex-Blue in the Final against the Bruins. What’s it to you? It’s a conversation between me and him. You’re a 50+ guy - don’t you have anything better to do? And as I mentioned before, I am not as familiar with Brind Amour’s career. I really wish you and some of the others on this thread show as much passion for Patriots football as you do the Bruins.

Someone seems unclear on the concept and use of the "ignore" function.

So you throw an '@' out there and you don't believe it will draw a response? It's sad you can't understand that any Blues fan that was looking for a rooting interest elsewhere (btw they don't need one since their their team is alive and well) wouldn't be more inclined to cheer the team that has a ten year Blue on it in the person of David Backes who was a big part of that team as recently as 3 years ago.

so glad i popped in to this OT NHL Playoffs thread. I think ill just go back to the Bruins forum and have a conversation with myself.

Please stay - we need some more actual hockey talk. How bout them Bruins! What do you think of the suspension of McAvoy? I think it's BS, and likely to hurt as he is our best defenseman. Tuukka has been red-hot (despite the announcers saying it was Bombrowski in the last series). I hope he stays that way, particularly in game 1.

Anybody out there a Carolina fan?

I think the suspension was probably warranted, although it does hurt. At least its only 1 game. Maybe Miller will be ready but the others must step up. Cant wait to face Dougie Hamilton. I never thought he was that great and he certainly never bought into the Bruins style. i think he is soft, but the majority of experts think he is great. This would be an even better series had they remained in Hartford. Go Bruins in 6

No but my loser buddy in Raleigh sent me this crap.

I told him hurricanes fizzle out the more north they go.

Ha! That is awesome, but as you said, we can send him about 100 weather forecasts that show that once a Hurricane hits New England, it fizzles and limps out to sea. May their hockey team suffer the same fate!

It'll be a great series. Canes got a lot of momentum going but the Bs are a better team.

Sweeney has been quoted by multiple sources as saying Miller isn't ready yet but he may become available at some point. He was rather more cryptic about Moore. From a NESN piece, ' “Yeah. John’s available,” Sweeney said. “He’s just dealing with stuff that makes it hard, but he’s available.”'
