Jared Veldheer to retire

Depth and Flexibility along with a vet signing...what's not to like?

All they might need is a DT... but IDK if it's a big deal. Over the course of the year as they recycle guys over and over someone will show up and do it well enough to be the 4th guy in that rotation. I don't think you need to automatically go out and sign a particular FA to fill out that spot right now.

This team looks ready to go. Let the UDFAs fight for the last spots and see where the chips fall before doing anything else. They can always sign someone else in season if need be.

32 years old. Oft injured last few years. Depth signing. If he plays a lot that means Wynn and Cajuste aren't ready which would kinda suck.

Sounds like waddle v2, injury prone but can provide solid depth when needed. Great move if wynn or Cajuste are ready to start a bulk of the games

The move is fine but we want it to be Plan C.

Come on. Jared Veldheer is a more accomplished, more veteran, and just better tackle than Waddle - and Waddle was valuable here. The guy has started 113 games. Waddle started 31 and was a depth piece since he came into the league.

It's a pretty solid signing.

Now it's down DT, possible TE, Brady extension and Gordon reinstatement as far as things we need to accomplish this offseason.

Maybe a few years back but at this point its hard for me to rely on him to do any more than waddle did for us. If im wrong and hes a solid full timer still, I’ll gladly pay up the 6 mill.

I agree about this. Still an important signing because of the health questionmarks regarding Wynn and Cannon atm.

I still don't trust the depth/quality at TE, WR, 0/1-Tech, and SS/Chung Understudy.

If Ben Watson is serious about un-retiring, then I would absolutely give him a call...and in the mean-time, I'd have the numbers of Jermaine Gresham & Lance Kendricks close to the phone...I might even bring Maxx Williams to Foxborough for a face-to-face and try to understand what exactly went wrong for him in Baltimore.

At WR, I would bring in Pierre Garcon for a thorough physical (he'd set a good example for our young Mr Henry too)...I'd also inquire about Michael Crabtree, Jermaine Kearse (Jete stank and all), Dontrelle Inman & possibly Richard Matthews too.

At DT, I'm not a big fan of Allen Bailey here. I'm looking for somebody more stout like...Danny Shelton. He'll be inexpensive at this stage of the off-season, he already knows the defense, and he appeared to improve after his benching. Bennie Logan's another possibility...and maybe Mo Wilkerson, if he's willing to stay inside and do the dirty work.

At SS, there's not much out there now except for maybe Johnathan Cyprien & his recovering ACL. I suppose some of the depth issue here will depend on the progress if any of ObiWan. I'm really, Really pulling for him to make the 53. Malik Gant is another possibility I suppose, but there just isn't enough of the necessary athleticism in him.

yep I think DT and TE still need upgrades. WR I would first wait on Gordon and it suspended for full season maybe swing a trade with our 3rd round pick (we have 3 3s in 2020)

According to PFF Veldheer and Trent Brown had the same pass blocking grade and allowed the same pressure rate.

And one cost 60 million dollars less. A no brainer signing.
