Gronk in retirement is contributing to the advancement of quantum physics. Currently suspended in an unknown state of will he come back or won't he, Gronk easily has to be the largest physical object ever to be in a state of superposition. Only when we observe, perhaps in late fall or just before the playoffs will his truly gigantic waveform collapse into a definitive state.
But if we observe him, we're altering reality.

Have the retirement papers been filed with the NFL?

Will anyone be allowed to take # 87? NKH? Jenkins or Thomas.

Seems like Gronk would be promoting his big time wresting career by now.

Did Gronk sell his house and move? No sales or income tax in Florida. WTF, live in Mass?
There are sales taxes in Florida.

Not sure I want him back. Over the last couple years he went from being an absolute stud, undisputed best TE in the game, to looking mighty mortal out there.

Dude's had a lot of injuries, I think he needs to call it quits before he needs a quad cane to get around by age 45

Color me strange but my preference is for Gronk to stay retired. I loved everything about the big guy but if he's not fully committed, I'd rather the Patriots looked toward the future and invested snaps and time in whoever our next great TE might be.

Thoughtful and reasonable. Probably for the best.

This and my entire UVa men's basketball starting five is leaving for the pro's.

Sigh.

Well for now it looks like the consensus is settling on coming back. Surprises me a bit, really, thought “not” would win out.

My personal choice was “pass,” but I see not many of you want to join me and have the courage of your lack of convictions.

Can someone inform me why this is even a question? From my understanding, he just retired and it wasn't surprising he did. As in, he's gonna stay retired. But I don't stay up to date in the liner notes:

What has suggested he's coming back?
Genuinely wondering! As I'd love to have him haha.

Folklore and speculation.

I know what will happen. Gronk will un retire then get benched for the playoffs

Anyone saying they wouldn't want 2019 level playoff healthy Gronk back for a final seven games and playoff run this coming year is nuts.

Maybe he wouldn't be the greatest offensive non quarterback force since Jim Brown any longer, but he was a beast as a blocker and still owned the big play.

I'd expect similar in another short run this year, if Gronk chose.

who is saying that?

I think he's done, but if he is coming back it'll be in a season or two a la Jason Witten. I don't think it''ll be a half season thing, Gronk wouldnt do that to his teammates.

Doesn't he have to come back to get the Pats a new Lombardi to replace the one he dented?

As much as I would love to see him back in a Pats uniform, I can't fault his decision.

He is literally living the life.

Already one of, if not the best TE's in league history, SB rings, millions in the bank, smokeshow for a girlfriend, great family and friends... and he's retired before 30 with unlimited time to do anything and everything, or nothing.

I honestly feel like he's mentally done with the pressure and work of being an NFL player and will most definitely not be returning, and I don't blame him one bit. Everything he's been through injury wise, he shouldn't give it another thought.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking at this point...I think he might have had the idea in his head he could come back, but as time goes by it will appeal less and less.

Unless! Just had this thought. The TE position on the Pats is SO BAD this year that he won’t be able to bear his brothers coming up short there. That’s why Belichick has ignored the position! Genius.

Almost makes me wish the trophy was passed from team to team each yer. Everyone from now on would have to look at it, see the dent, and be reminded of the Pats not matter how many years it has been.
