He had some tough competition back in T.C. with the Pats.

I remember him. He and another rookie TE had solid training camps and the Pats tried to sneak them to the practice squad. Both got claimed. I think Smith went to Buffalo. Can’t remember the other guy.

Rudolph is 30 in November.

A 3 year extension lowering this seasons cap hit would not be unheard of. The final year could be a dead year like many teams do including the Pat's.
