Not much in the way of details to be found at this time.
Condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends of Dwane Simmons

Shot early Sunday morning? That probably means out super late Saturday night. Not much good happens outside at 2am in Topeka Kansas. The call came in a 1:46am to be exact.

Call me insensitive, but I think we'll find out this tragedy was very preventable if better choices were made by a number of people including the victims.

It could be they were just walking around minding their own business and got mugged. Usually not how these things go though.

Everything is preventable one way or another. I get the gist of "Not much good..." comment but you have a right to go out and have a good time at 1 AM

"he was asking for it."

"he was asking for it."

I never said that. It's a tragedy and I would never suggest otherwise. I'm sorry someone died. It shouldn't have happened. That doesn't mean we shouldn't point out they may not have been doing the smartest things before hand.

Someone breaking into your home and killing you in the middle of the night and potentially putting yourself in a bad situation are 2 very different things. That's what I'm saying.

Must’ve been quite the cast of characters at his draft party! Or was some mugger after his bonus money already?

I agree. If all they were doing is going out at 130am to get some late night food that's horrible. You have every right to do that. If you want to chill with friends or have fun in a public place that's fine too. Any time day or night you should feel free to do any number of things.

Why is this part such a huge logical leap to you?

At first, I was seeing this as the 6th pick (which was the first round QB they selected).

Wonder who shot him and why.

Washburn is a good school too.

Some sections of Topeka are very violent.

Ballentine was somebody at whom I & others were looking as a possible Patriot anytime during Day 3. Bill's over-drafting of JoeJohnWillies in round 2 put an end to all that, of course.
