Everyone Seems VERY Happy With This Draft So Far

Perfect! That means the draft was a home run, smashing success.

From the person who was overseeing that the champagne and cigars were ready on 11/8/16.

You can't expect credibility here if you're going to say that BB drafted Harris "to do a solid for his pal Nick Saban." You draft a guy with the last pick of the 7th round if you're gonna do that, but even then, not. You do NOT draft a guy in the 3rd round that you don't think is a good move for you, in order to do a favor to that kid's college coach.

Come on now.

The fact remains that at times, Mickey D has too many toys and does not use them all.

White vanished in Pittsburgh last year.

I'm VERY happy too.

If N'Keal Harry pans out as hoped, this is a terrific draft. He seems to have the catch strength and ball-in-hand running appetite to be a combination of Patterson and Gordon.

The two O-line men look great picks. They don't have to be Vollmer and Mankins. If Dante can turn them into serviceable players -- (say) Waddle and Karras -- that's a big win.

Williams, Winovich and Cowart all look like good picks -- nothing is certain, but they're good prospects, and, if the worst comes to the worst, there are other players at those positions.

I'm certainly puzzled by the Harris pick. OK, if you get a chance draft a player who is way above anyone else on your roster, you should always take him, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Burkhead is really good, has a different skill set and it wouldn't save much money if he were cut. Ditto White. Last year was unusual with no Bolden/running back special teamer, three RBs injured and two they wanted to bring back (so they had to keep one on the 53) -- and CP was actually a very serviceable RB when he played. Maybe they keep an extra RB, maybe Harris bumps Bolden off special teams. But I'm sure that they have thought about that.

Likewise, I'm going to assume that they know what they are doing in not drafting a TE and drafting a punter.

And in preferring Stidham over trading for Rosen, whom they could have had for not that much more.

I'm going to add that, of the free agents, Beck (TE) and Davis (jinky, jukey WR) look like they could meet a need. I was more impressed with Ryan Davis than I was with what I saw of Berrios or Riley McCarron. But sorting that out is what the off-season and training camp are for.

Go Pats!

Im not thrilled with this draft.

No TE. Just watch some of these drafted TEs be studs. NE just needed a good young TE and not a HOFer.

RB was not a need. At times last season, Josh McDonalds did not use the RB he already had on the committee. A luxury pick too high just because BB wanted to do a solid for his pal Nick Saban. This has to stop.

Deep threat WR was a need. You have Dorsett who is the guy at work that you havent seen all day and its 5 o'clock and Gordon who is rumored to be making his 4th comeback after he misses at least 6 games. NKH is a size 16 shoe plodder and wont stretch the field.

Yodney Cajole is an injury waiting to happen. May as well name him IR right now.

Stickman was a wasted pick too. You still have to carry Hoyer as insurance QB. Just Stickman is like having nobody. Edelman will be back there throwing the ball and catching it.

And another thing, Isiah Wynn is likely another bust. Why all the OL?

Stop trolling. You know damn well we had a good draft lol.

For big WRs the 2 most ready to play right now are Harry and brown. With uncertainty regarding Gordon and DT this is a huge need.

The secondary was already in good shape. Biggest weakness? Covering the TE. Enter Joejuan Williams.

And then we get the next ninkovich all the way down in r3? Sign me up for that. Winovich is all effort and it will trickle down to the rest of the defense.

On the surface it looks like rb wasn’t a need but don’t forget at one point last year cordarelle was our rb. When your a power run team it never hurts to have too many quality backs in case of injury.

Rest of the draft are about acquiring depth. Got 2 more pieces for the OL who can hopefully play multiple positions Cajuste T/G and froholdt G/C. And we got the best in the business coaching them up.

That literally has nothing to do with your claim that BB drafted Harris to do *Nick Saban* a solid.

This is impressively braindead.
If you want to paint others' comments in a negative light, it would be a lot more effective if you simply agree with them. They will instantly lose all credibility with anyone that was on the fence.

Nobody knows if the draft was good or bad. Cant tell because everything is speculation.

I am not real happy with this draft. Harry sees like just another big slow receiver. On most of his highlights, he could not get an separation and had to make a spectacular catch; I doubt this will work real well in the NFL.

I like Joejuan Williams since the Patriots can move he around and get good matchups, either against the TE or a big receiver. Watch his eat Harry alive in summer camp.

Winovich seems like a glitzy pick that a fan would make rather than BB. He does not look very strong, but we will see. A relentless motor is nice, but will it be enough since he does not have elite athleticism.

Damien Harris is the pick everyone hates, so maybe he will work out.

I like Jarrett Stidham, but he bird dogs his receiver. Hard to tell is he can develop a quick releease.

Couldve used another WR or TE. Other than that, really impressed with this draft.

Winovich and Harris are both great value. Harry is gonna be a Pro Bowler.

Bolden is back. Sonny is healthy.

Patterson had nothing else to do.

Sony got hurt during the season, and Bolden sucks. It takes two injuries at that position before you've got Develin as your lead back.

Fine with depth at that position.

Wouldn’t shock me if 4 players from that draft were named to the Pro Bowl at least once. Really.

IMO this is a very good draft on paper.,.,.

Meanwhile the Sports Talks people are honing their knowledge base to make their arguments that this was not a good draft as the Pats coulda, shoulda. They missed on "that guy"... and the familiar BS about how BB and staff throw darts at various prospects in making their choices..

Time for some "Debbie Downer" moments by sportstalk in an effort to justify their existence...
