2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Bruins just lost a game they controlled, because they couldn't bring more than a high school level of passing or clearing for any stretch of time during the game. What an embarrassment.
Losing in double OT is not an embarrassment. Keep your pessimism confined to the draft thread.

It was a legit trip, unlike the first penalty

Maybe. But Columbus was hauling Bruins down left and right with zero calls and I was fine with it. They could do whatever they wanted to Boston, not the other way.

Ridiculous.

Agreed, just a foolishly weak take. Sure there were turnovers but make no mistake, a smoking hot Bobrovsky and bad PK cost the B's that one

Frustrating since Columbus doesn’t look like worldbeaters. Hats off to them tonight though. Neither team looked spectacular. Bobrovsky playing his ass off at key points was probably the difference.

I'll post as I wish, but thanks for your advice.

And the 2 regulation goals were off brainlock clear attempts. Perhaps you missed the game, though.

Nobody is excusing the two poor turnovers in their own end. You act as if turnovers are rare. They happen all game; BJ's just took advantage. Credit to them. If it weren't for a scorching hot goaltender and the post being a CM too thick, the Bruins win that game in the 3rd and several times in OT.

Losing to a hot goaltender and a good team in double OT is not embarrassing. The only thing embarrassing here is your lack of hockey insight coupled with your usual blathering.

I didn't act in any such way. I noted, and crticicized, the ****ty passing and clearing, some of which you just acknowledged, which negated what was otherwise a largely controlling performance. You responded by acting like a douchebag.

That failed clear attempt that led to the second goal was epic bad. It was like Ber forgot he was playing for the Bruins and was trying to setup the CBJ goal. How you can be that nonchalant and do a light clear/pass into the area in front of your own net with basically all 5 CBJ players in or almost in the Bruins' zone is f'n inexplicable.

In general the Bruins' passing was too frequently awful. How many cutesy little curls that seemed like they belonged in a 'just for fun, skating around' practice session (among others)? Too many...

Bergeron just effing awful all playoffs. If you're going to be invisible offensively, don't take a stupid ass penalty in the offensive end you dope. That was so pathetic. God damnit
Chara is high on my sh!t list lately, too. He looks old and slow. He’s turning the puck over. He’s taking stupid penalties. I’m wondering if he shouldn’t have retired a year or two ago.

Pretty sure it was Coyle with the ridiculous “pass” to a CBJ on the goal that tied it, but yeah, way too many cutesy passes and not enough pucks on net.

I can’t believe that any professional player would attempt to clear the puck by centering it in their own zone. Chara’s mishap wasn’t quite as bad, but his failure to clear the puck resulted in a poor goal, too.

Boston did not play well, tonight. Let’s hope that it doesn’t come back to bite them in the ass, because they are the odds on favorites to go all the way.

Thanks for the correction SUP!

And agree on the order of clusterf-ery. Chara's was bad, Coyle's was just inexplicably mystifying-ly galactic-ly insanely bad. He could have wristed it into the stands for a minor and that would have been exponentially less bad.

Honestly i thought the Bruins overall had significant stretches that made me think this was their game to win or lose (great minds don't always think alike :)). At times, I thought, they were pressing the matter quite well and consistently. But passing like fools sometimes + those failed clear gross errors (giving up such easy goals in the 2nd round of the playoffs? urgh) + some impotent PP opps = I think more people would lean towards your description as being the more correct one.

He still looks good when he's on the boards one on one, using his size and leverage in direct battles. But yea, he had enough 'concerning' clears/handles that I was downright nervous when he was in that position with the puck.

Man, don't give your opponent gruesomely bad turnovers/prime and cheap goal opps and pass like a legitimate playoff team . It sure seams like for Chara and the rest of the team that is eminently achievable :)

Enough, the game is over! Some mistakes, some bad refs calls, bad breaks, strong goaltending, the game went 2 OTs. The next game is Wednesday, hopefully, the rest will help. Onto game 3. BTW it was not an Embarrassment.

Hi, Chara still is playing defense well he saved a couple of goals. It is his passing, strange, his shot is strong but his moving the puck out is soft.

Go Bruins
