On Cowart, fwiw a close physical comp is Tyson Jackson, who IIRC was Scott Pioli's first ever pick with KC in round 1 a decade ago.

The measurables, if anybody's interested. Cowart definitely would have been on more fans' radars in the classic 3-4 days:

Player Height Weight Arms 40 Bench VJ BJ Shuttle Cone
Cowart 6'3" 298 34 3/4" 5.16 26 30" 09'03" 4.62 7.66
Jackson 6'4" 296 34" 5.00 20 28.5" 8'06" 4.80 7.64

Looking at those trades, we did a lot of business with Seattle and LA Rams. Looks like we have a good relationship with their front offices despite beating them in the Superbowl.

Not surprised. McVay idolizes BB and I never noted any animosity between BB and Pete.

So our new corner out-benched both our DE picks? Cool!

As a sage poster said last night: they really only had one runner. Was there anybody on the roster besides Michel who you considered a genuine weapon on the ground? And do you feel confident in Michel's durability in a bell-cow role?

Harris is a quality, versatile RB who leaves the total positional group stronger. I wasn't looking for it, but I have no problem with it.

I’ve been beating this drum all offseason. Having that great running game was great, but an injury to Michel is going to be brutal. Getting another high level RB is much easier to do than other positions. Guessing the FO had the same line of thinking. Hopefully they can get another really good run blocking tight end and we see more power sets like last year. Losing Gronk and Allen’s blocking is more concerning to me than their wide receivers and pass catching TEs.

Here you go. For the record, they are on the set of The $100,000 Pyramid, where they taped an episode airing this summer.

we may have picked the right guys. I can think of four starters on offense who were picked after the second round. Brady, shaq mason, Edelman, james white.
Thuney (3), Andrews (UDFA), Cannon (5).

I am too, in concept. Yet I'm not really shocked that they passed on any specific individual TE. IMO this TE class was seriously over-rated.
Was it a weaker class this draft?

For whatever reason, Kyle Rudolph is still at Logan International Airport. Gerald McCoy is also with him; he’s just looking for his luggage at the moment.

Need a TE like the desert needs the rain

Nothing is quite as satisfying as the drafting of a punter

Wow Stidham is actually smaller than Brady. Brady is 6'4 and Stidham is 6'2.

BB « we are going to kick your butt. But that isn’t enough anymore. to rub it in, we are drafting this punter in the 5th. »

Couple of years ago, they took a long snapper in the 5th, iirc.

It’s worth noting the Pats never had a farewell press conference for Gronk, which is unusual for a player who’s “retiring”

But has been taken 2 rounds earlier. It means 2 rings more than Brady.

True I mean Brady is a once in a lifetime player but no one knew it at the time of his entrance into the league.

It’s all about money and health.

I look for gronkowski to return.
