I included Thomas. I am assuming Burkhead will get released. It'll save the team $3 million I think.
Yep. They shoulda kept Big **** Nick. How? Their QB isn't Nick Foles anymore. And we can't embarrass them without Gronk. They didn't play scared against us in the Super Bowl. They're not the Rams.
Just like the Giants, we're going to live this down forever. Eagles fans will make sure to remind us.
Yeah, but he’s a really good person who is really smart, just really slow for a CB. Only difference between him and Jordan Richards is size and position, though I see JoeSlow Williams switching to safety.
Odd feeling throughout this draft: like the players dont like the draft.
If this was last year - or most other years - id be enthusiastic.
This draft offered unique opportunities for the team always drafting at the bottom though and the predominant feeling is about missed opportunity. Im not a “talent“ person but this draft offered some top talent at low cost and Pats had plenty of ammunition and core team in place to get what they normally can't. They punted and went their usual way - good physical football players with highest character, maturity, leadership (on most part).
So it is this draft as usual approach (that i normally love so much) in a special draft year that has me quite detached..
This draft is perfect so far I am particularly happy we are not chasing the heir apparent (yet anyways)
Williams seems awesome especially to me. Pats have one of the strongest secondaries in the NFL.
I love the WR round 1 pick also.
0 of 6 have been won without good rb
I know some aren't happy & thats fine. Honestly you could make a case for a ton of positions/needs but I'm happy.
All these players were identified as PTP long before the draft. Some over a year before the draft.
Winovich, Harris, Harry, Williams, Wynn, Dawson, Crossen, Berrios, Sam, Rivers, Garcia, Wise, McDermott.
At the very least we're nailing picks. Let the myth that "no one knows who Bill wants, what Bill will do" die. I honestly feel this draft board is as good as its ever been in that respect. I might be wrong but I doubt it!
Smith and Blount were street free agents (or as good as in Blount's first tour). Both were fine players but if that's your definition of a good running back, then it's pretty easy to find a good running back. (Though frankly more important in those SBs were Faulk and White.)
That said, I have no problem with the Harris pick. If there wasn't a tight end worth drafting, you don't reach. The second best running back in the draft was available in the 3rd round. Much weaker crop than last year's but you have a guy who's going to contribute at a position where you need bodies and will be ready to do it right away.
I have to say, ever since I discovered this forum in 2013, this seems the most positive the board has ever been about a draft. Usually we are inundated with 'he is a bum' comments but you all seem pretty chuffed. As I don't get college football over here on my SKY package I look to you all at this time of year, and you have put me in a great mood.
My only real question is how the new CB projects. Gilmore and JC are excellent, so does this mean Dawson is falling down the depth chart, J-Mac could be on his way to safety, and Crossen is the odd man out?
We might even keep 5 true RBs
Maybe? Maybe mice like cheese or dogs bark when they hear the UPS truck.I’m not wowed by Cajuste, who I think has great size, but ok technique and balance. Maybe he blossoms under Dante.
